My fridge is warm, the freezer is working fine although it seems to be frostier than normal. The temps are set to fridge 4 and 28 for freezer. Lights are working makes a noise as its working. We have tried turning it off, also removing the back of the freezer compartment and clearing it of frost from around the fan it worked a little after this but has now given in again.

SOURCE: Hiya,i have a hotpoint fridge freezer ffa91 and

1. is light on in side when you open the door. If not check breakers or fuses.
2. Can you hear the compressor running. If not do you hear any clicking sounds.
3. If you hear clicking sounds, try putting a fan on compressor and unplug refrigerator.
4. Wait one hour.
5. plug back in. If compressor starts let it run and see if it cools, if it doesnt, call service man.
6. If it goes back to clicking, call a service man.
try this

Can you check and see if the compressor is running? It should be on the bottom in the back. If it's running it should be hot and making a light humming noise.

No power to freezer fan on hotpoint ffa91

On some of theses units the fans are connected through the defrost bi metal. When the bi metal gets cold the fan comes on. Check and replace bi metal. Should solve your issue.

I have a hotpoint fridge bottom freezer and after I had filled the freezer with my shopping yesterday, it started making a shreeking noise, I thought maybe it needed defrosting, which it did, so I...

If both section are not working as required then its compressor fault. The noise you noticed must be from compressor related parts, that are fan,the motor and relay. But If freezer is getting over cold and friezed and fridge section not getting cold then Its defrost problem. Try manual defrost by unplugging the refrigerator from main power outlet for 4 hours then reconnect it and check, if the same problem is noticed again,. If yes then its defrost board problem. The defrost board located in the back of fridge section. You can get required parts from www.repairclinic.com or from online sears part site. ------------- Thank you.

Food is defrosting in my hotpoint frost free fridge/freezer

Can you hear the compressor running? Is the fan inside the freezer running? It could be that a wire connection has come loose during the move. Was the fridge laid on it's side during the move? If so you probably have compressor oil restricting the refrigerant system. If compressor and fan are running you will probably need a qualified refrigeration tech to check it out.
