Update windows and the offending program.
The piece that stumps people is the buffer. Print buffers sometimes do not purge easily, and you have to "bleed" the garbage out of the buffer, by turn off, and back on type of procedures.
You can download and install the Lexmark OCR scan software using the installation disc that came with your printer only. The software is not available for downloading online. If you lost the disc, please contact Lexmark Technical Support Center to request for one. Thanks.
are you getting the driver direct from lexmark ? if so redownload it again, the file may have been corrupted. check again that you are getting the correct driver for your operating system as well.

If you have lost you cd or don't know how to install your printer then all you
need to do is download the drivers and software from the manufactures website
that suits your operating system and printer.
Yes try it ,if it turns out you need the lexmark driver software,,go online to the lexmark website ,,they have all the drivers on ther site,,,,good luck

Unplug printer
USB.
Go to control panel >>
installed printers
in Windows and remove (delete ) any installed printer from printer
list.
Download driver from website and
run the file.
Follow driver installation wizard.
Plug back printer when prompted
from installation wizard.
