By saying that your remote is wrong, what do you mean? Does your remote wire not have 12 volts on it when the radio is on? If you want to turn your amp on run a wire that is either switched with the ignition or a switched output from the radio to turn it on. Or you could just run 12 volts to a switch and then the switch to the amp remote. That way you can turn it on and off when ever you want...your preference. I hope I could help.

If you were going to tap into the factory radio turn-on, unless you are working on a BMW or better, I would not use the fuse approach. Granted it gets the job done, but it would never be a secure as going behind the radio and hooking it up right. If are using the factory radio let me know and I can tell you the right wire to hook up to. I hope I can help.

Well really u can take the remote wire from the amp to a kill switch mount it on the dash and then the kill swicth to the fuse box. put it on the fuse that says radio hook the remote wire up to that and remember that when u wrap the wire around the fuse make sure that it stays in place . or u could have a bad ground its one of those though and u dont really have to run a swith or a kill swicth u just go srtight from the amp to the fusebox under the dash let me no if any if this info works.

As soon I turn on the car the fuses on the amp go out !!! What am I dealing with here

Disconnect the remote wire from the amp and bridge a wire to the remote port from the positive... if the fuse doesn't blow its most likely a corrupt remote wire from the head deck or the wrong wire...If it still blows when bridged, open up your amp and check the inside terminal look for thin strands of old wire crossing the +/- as its common in used amps...

Hi There. Any impact damage that was able to rip your ampifier loose may possibly have done some damage inside the amp. I would reccomend that you disconnect your amplifier and take it in to a reputable dealer to be bench tested. They will be able to give you the diagnosis.
P. S. If ypou feel that you are technically minded and are able to solder proffesionally, then open your amplifier. Check the board for breaks or hairline cracks under a light. Repair if any are found. Check for broken solder joints on the reverse side of the board. Repair any that you may find. Stripping your amplifir is NOT RECOMENDED and WILL VOID your warranty.

Hope you solve your problem. :)

Stays on

check to see if the remote wire has 12 volts when you turn the vehicle off. if so that is whats causing it to stay on. check your radio or where ever the remote signal is coming from. if the remote wire does not have 12 volts when the car is off, then there is something wrong with the turn on portion of the amp and needs to be repaired or replaced. good luck

Jl 1000/1 cuts out

Hello, It sounds like you may have a problem with one of your subs. If this problem was not happening before that's what I would suspect. You need to check the ohms of both subs seperately, make sure you don't have a half blown sub. Second you need to test the voltage going into the amp while playing at a decent volume to see if there is a major drop in voltage. Also, check your ground. You'd be surprised at the many people who bring there cars to my shop with similar problems and turns out the ground was bad or loose. I would doubt there is something wrong internaly with your amp. The problem lies in the wiring or speakers. As you said it only started doing this after 3 or 4 months after it was installed. It's cutting off at high volumes cause it can't draw the power it needs at the higher volume, so make sure you check all your wiring good. Let me know what you find, I would like to be able to help you more if for some reason you can't figure it out. I own a shop and also do amplifire repair. Hope this helps.

I hook up my alpine amplifire and the red light for the fuse protection comes. on what could it be?

It is either hooked up wrong or the wire you are using is too thin. Be sure to use the proper gage wire for the output of the amp.

Have you tried turning your gain down a little and then slowly turn the gain up while the sound is on!!!! There could be a pinched wire in you speaker wires!!!! Make sure your remote wire is not touching any metal or ground wire!!!!

Try removing the remote turn-on wire from the terminal on your amp. If that shuts it off then you can use either the remote turn-on output from your head unit, or any fuse at your fusebox that only comes on with the car on.
If that doesn't shut it off the amp has an internal short and should be replaced or you could put an easily accessible fuse in its power wire and pull that when you wanted to shut it off.
