LG flatron L1917S problem

Hello I have the model in the subject.
Today when I closed my computer my monitor went black and the power indicator started flashing.
Occasionally the LG logo appeared in the screen.
The power on/off button did not close the monitor.
I booted the computer but still the same.
After some hours I booted the computer again & here I am with the monitor working. I'm afraid that if I close the comp this might become permanent.
After reading some solutions about similar problems with the power indicator flashing, I read it might be the backlight that dies. If it were the backlight I believe the monitor would respond to the power button..

I am 100% sure it's not my computer but the monitor. Even unplugging it from the computer (leaving only the power cord) exhibits the same behavior.

Thanks in advance!

LG FLATRON E700SH problem wid it is that .its led is flickering dimmly but screen is black out ..? buta sometime after 20m 45 minutes the monitors starts working .but some time it doesnt.??????????

Hello,

The picture board on your monitor is malfunctioning, since the power led or button is on, but the screen is black out, it means the picture board of your monitor has developed fault.

The best thing for you to do now is to take the monitor to a local repairer within your vicinity or any service center to help with the replacement of the picture board because the fault is not something you can fix yourself, in order not to complicate issues.

Take care.

Smoke from monitor LG Flatron EZ T710BH

Hello pepito,
If it's working fine now, that's great! For the while, it'd be best to leave it as is it, in a well-ventilated place (not too close to walls or heater or fridges) where it can't get overheated. See if anything else happens over the next week or so. If it does again, you'd probably be able to guess what it is now, if not overheating (maybe voltage fluctuations...or maybe there were some tinkerings on with the monitor?). Either way, get it checked soon. Better to do that while it's still running.

The bulb is dying in the back. These monitors are famous for it. You can look on ebay for a new backlight, but It's not easy to find.
