Question about Pioneer PD-F605 CD Player
My player will only play the first 5 cds for some reason and will go back to the first 5 when i play the 6th or 7th or etc cd. Is this supposed to happen?
The short answer is no, but that is not really usefull. If I remember this model correctly, the movement is controlled by a motor/belt assembly. The positioning is read by a photo sensor setup. These mechanisms are known for getting confused. This is not a repair that should be attempted by anyone without prior servicing experience. There are specific dis-assembly/re-assembly sequences to insure proper alignment of the mechanism. Expect a repair cost af around $100 for this with an additional $15 or so if the sensors need to be replaced.

I had the same problem with a pd-f505. Turns out when I removed the cover there were cds loose in the unit that were jamming the mechanism. Removed the long lost cds and it works great.

Agree with above post. Opened mine up and found a stack of CD's blocking the tray.
