I am having the EXACT same problem! we purchased our trutech tv about a yr ago. I was searching for answers lastnight and found that a lot of people had issues with these tv's not long after they were bough...hope to find a resolution to the problem!

I also purchased a Tru Tech LCD television. Within a month, the sound went out if you turned the tv off. I had to leave it on. Approximately 2 months after that, the picture totally went out. Target nor TruTech will offer any help and I cannot find a television shop that will fix it.

I have the same problem. From things I have read on hear it seems to be a capacitor problem. TruTech is made be Alco Industeries. I have tried calling the number in the warrenty with no luck. I called Target last night (not the local store) and was told that number was incorrect and was provided a different number which also failed to work. I called Target back, make sure you get a reference number on your first call. When I told the person the second number wasn't working they immediately, with me even asking. The Manager informed me the Alco has told them the number would be fixed. She then took down all me info and sent it to an internal Alco email address she has. I was told to expect a call or email within two business. If this does not happen I can call her back and she is than authorized to call an internal Alco phone number. She was very nice and very helpful as I was talking to her, but she seemed very guarded about what she could say, and how she said it. That makes me wonder if there aren't legal issues going on they can't talk about. Sorry to be so long winded but, people on this site have been helpful to me so I thought I would pass along what I know. Good luck to all.
Comment by mc6796, posted on Feb 21, 2008Ok so here is my update. I spoke with people at Target's Corp. customer services. I had to jump thru some hoops, if you want my opinion, I think there are legal things going on between Target and Venture Electronics, formerly known as Alco, the suppliers of Trutech. I was giving two numbers to try from a woman at Target, who was very nice and helpful, but unwilling to elaborate to much. When both numbers failed she sent a Venture tech an email on my behalf. Two days later I was contacted by a rep who all of my info. The long and short of it is that I am right now two weeks later watching my formerly broken tv. Venture paid for my shipping both ways and fixed the tv. The tech did admit that the capacitors are a problem but in some cases there have been other issues as well. The tech I worked with might get pissed at this but who cares. The tech number is (905) 477-7878 his name is David, and his ext. 5095. He is very helpful but you have to stay on top of him, I had to call every other day for a week to get the shipping tag so I send them my tv. Good luck to all hope everyone is able to have the success I have.

Open the back of the TV,and look at the can shaped items on the board that the power cord is hooked to.If any of them have the tops,or bottoms bulged out, they need to be replaced. This should get it working again.I hope this helps. If you have any other questions, please let me know.Thank You very much!

I have a Sanyo LED tv model DP58D33. It turns on and functions perfectly for awhile, then screen goes black but still has sound.

Back - light problem. Check and replace damaged component/s at its back-light inverter board, or replace this board as card basis. If you wish to get some details; check the site linked here. Surf the site with patience. Pull up older posts. It will be best to replace the inverter board as card basis. http://electronicshelponline.blogspot.com/ To some model sets; especially LED back-lighted types; the back-light inverter circuit will be part of the main power supply board [SMPS]. In such cases, the power supply board might need replacement. To some models sets, the back-light inverter and SMPS section circuit will be integrated at its main board itself. If so; the main board should be replaced. To some models of sets, all these section circuit will be integrated at its main board. If this is the case, you have to replace the main board.

Toshiba 50A61rear projection colorstream TV. Went into sleep cycle with DVD player and don't hAve factory remote. Just sound no pic

Without a remote control, you can do nothing with this selection. If you wish to buy its original remote control, contact the authorized service centre, or authorized dealer to your device brand. They can either give you a genuine remote control to your device, or can direct you, from where can you purchase a suitable one.
To select a proper universal remote control, you should know about the number of digits to its set-up codes. There are 3 digit, 4 digit, 5 digit, 2 digit and even single digit codes, to some brand devices. After confirming this, check the sites linked here. Both the sites have set-up code list and set-up procedure to many popular brand remote controls. Check which brand remote control has set-up code/s to your device brand, and buy that one according to availability. Brand name of the remote control isn't a matter, but it should have set-up codes in its code list, to the device brand you have.
Please note: Every new universal remote control will have set-up code list, and set-up procedure along with its pack. Never accept a remote control, that hasn't both of this. For more details about the set-up codes, visit the sites.

LG LED TV has sound but no picture. Went out all of a sudden. Image shows with flashlight. Flashes for split second on power up and power down.

Your screens back light has most likely failed and or the voltage controller for the back light, both should be replaced.

Set-up (Programming) procedure is too much to type in here, and is not practical and it will differ brand-to-brand remote controls. If you wish to get more; check the sites linked here. The site has set-up code list & set-up procedure to many popular brand remote controls. The site has general set-up codes to check with TVs and other devices are given, in the order of the 'device's brand name list' in alphabetical order. Set-up code list to many brand remote controls also is given. Pull up older posts. Search the sites by type in the brand name to your device in its search box at the top right part of the display window. It will help you to find the document easily.

I have a rca model led65g55r120q tv flickers and no sound

Check all cables for loose connection, try another input for picture (DVD, BLu-Ray, etc). If none of the other inputs work then it's a panel problem (display) If one or more of the others work then it's a problem with either the tuner or the signal.
