Wii freezing up

On my nintendo wii it will let me use the controller to get all the way to the game but then it wont let you swing like its not picking up the sensor once your in the game.. but the sensor works cause i use the controller with the sensor to get to a particular game like throught the menu and everything.. This is happening on all our wii games.. It seems like its controller one, I have tried reseting the remotes but I think you have to use remote 1 for remote one always.. if that makes any sense? i would love any input thanks im kinda technology illiterate.. Ha
Thanks Ashley

Hi Ashley,

It sounds like the accelerometer in your Wii Remote is not working properly.

The "point-and-click" stuff like the Wii Menu use the WIi Remote's camera (which is behind the dark part on the front of the Wii Remote). The motion-sensing for swinging, tilting and other motion uses the accelerometer in the Wii Remote.

Wrap your Wii Remote in a towel and give it a whack against your knee (not so hard as to injure your knee) - sometimes the accelerometer part gets "stuck" and needs to be jarred out of position.

If that still doesn't work, then go to Nintendo.com, click Support, and go to the Wii Troubleshooting section for more options.
http://www.nintendo.com/consumer/systems/wii/en_na/ts/wiiremote.jsp

Also, you don't have to use the same remote as #1. The first remote that is activated will become #1.

You can also push the Home button on the Wii Remote, then point to the bottom (where the battery levels are shown), press A, then click on Reconnect. It will tell you to press the 1 and 2 buttons on each remote in the order you want them to appear. Press the 1 and 2 buttons on the remote you want to be #1, wait for the remote to sync (the Wii will make a happy nosie), then do the same for the remote you want to be #2, etc.

Wii remote won't let me swing or box

if the remote sensor doesnt work, then it wont register with the game console. there is sort of an accelerometer in a wii mote that can sense the changes in angle and height and things like that. that accelerometer could be broken due to dropping of the controller(unlikely) or overshaking(very unlikely) or just bad production(sort of likely). just call the nintendo customer service and confirm the problem with the controller and ask if it is possible to refund the item for a new one or you could just buy a new wii mote. also, you could try using a friends wii mote to make sure that your system is recognizing the controller.

My wii remote

@ Slivic22
Some games does not use Sensor Bar pointing because they play with motion/accelerometer only. After you select the number of sets on Wii Sports Tennis, there is no Sensor Bar pointing except for Pause menu. That's because you Swing the remote like a racket.

Wii game freezing at same location. urgent!

It could be the nintendo wii itself, try and find a gaming repair shop and see what they say, if it is the wii they will repair it for free or might cost a bit, chances are it might just need cleaning on the inside (dust) hope it gets sorted out
