Can you get the firmware side so I can download it. Can you fill me in on the DKU cable. How is the DKU cable fit in my garmin PDA

  • Trouble ique Apr 01, 2008

The hot sync does not do anything with my PDA.
However my daughter she had one PDA and i tried the hot sync last Sunday and it works fine with my computer.
I don't have the tool with me but I will try to remove the battery and plug in the charger when I get home tonite and will inform you tomorrow if it is okay with you.

  • Trouble ique Apr 01, 2008

    One more question
Is the cradle considered a DKU cable? The dKU cable is nothing but USB cable correct?

  • Trouble ique Apr 01, 2008

I am in Florence Kentucky. Do you know a place that I can bring my PDA to flash the chip?

  • Trouble ique Apr 01, 2008

Will talk again tomorrow. Have a nice day..

  • Trouble ique Apr 03, 2008

I did follow your instruction by removing the battery and plug in to see if it works. It does not do anything. And now everytime I boot up my laptop and the COM1 is not available for the Hot Sync Manager warning pop up.
    Any other idea...

The firmware might have got corrupted due to that accident ...

you must take your cell to technician and get installed with new firmware ...

you can only try to install the firmware if you have the special DKU series cable which is compatible with your handset ...

as you have mentioned here in problem that you tried hard reset ...
i hope you did that using the DKU series cable ..
if this is right reply me i will give you the link to the firmware website ..... download and then try it...

note: but it is dangerous to try yourself because if you fail to install the firmware with any reason then your handset is just dead .... there is no way to get it out ... so be careful ...
handle with care ..
so it is better to contact the technician ...

and one more thing just try connecting to the pc once if it is detecting or not ...
if it is detecting means you can update your firmware very easily & there will be other options too just like reset etc....

any way give me a reply ....

i will try to get links but i am not sure i will get it or not ...

there will be the DKU series cable which will be compatible for certain number of handsets ...

The technicians will use this only to reset, master reset , for flashing etc...

when you purchase the suitable DKU series cable they will provide a manufacturer cd which contains the software with the options to reset, flash etc ...

just have a search if your PDA handset doesnt have any DKU series cable means then you must and should take it to the technician ....

the technician will short circuit the microprocessor by this everything in the RAM chip will get erased including firmware then after this they will install the new firmware ...

i am sure the DKU series cable will be available for your handsets ....

    alright ....
but i think it s better if you try connecting to pc too so that you may be able to know the status ....

after trying that it is better to contact technician because you already invested much on your handset if you try yourself to install the os if any reason you fail then your handset is of no use ...

even any technician cannot make it right ....
if this instance happens there is only one way you must give it to the company and change the whole chip ...

so it is better without losing your handset you just contact technician ...

but also if you want to make it right by yourself then reply me ...

i am always here to assist with it ....

the cable what we used to connect is called as USB data cable ...

DKU cable is the tool kit used by the technicians to solve the problem like
for instance if you would have forgot some passwords, security codes etc they will use that to reset the codes into default codes .....

but we can install the firmware by using USB cable too for some handsets like yours for that thing the previous firmware must be working or there must be connectivity with the pc ...

for better understanding read this :

in all mobiles there will be one chip which stores some manufacturer information or which is responsible to obtain the connectivity with the pc so in your handset if your chip has that information then there will be connectivity with the pc ..

    Dileep Keshavanarayana Apr 01, 2008

i dont have the idea about the cradle ...

but there will be some paid softwares which allows the installing of the firmwares by using the same usb data cable too which are used by technicians ...

for that as i previously told your handset must show connectivity with the pc...

My player got hanged.and its not functioning? what probably the cause and how can i deal with it? it cannot be turned off..the menus are not functioning

Hi,you need to rest your mp3 player...

How to Reset a Sansa Clip

The Sansa Clip is a high-quality MP3 player. It holds hundreds of songs and is built for portability. The "clip" allows you to attach it to your clothing or belt while you are working out or on the go. Even the best MP3 players can encounter some problems, and the Sansa Clip is no exception. If your Sansa Clip freezes up and does not respond, you may have to try resetting or reformatting it.

Instructions

Complete Reset

Turn Sansa Clip on. Press the "Menu" (home) button.

Press the bottom of the scroll wheel until you reach the "Settings" screen. Push the center button to choose "Settings."

Scroll down to "Reset All" and select. You'll be asked to confirm the reset. Select "Yes." This option will simply allow you to reset the language and location settings on your Sansa Clip. It will not erase data from the clip. To do a complete factory restore, follow Steps 4 and 5.

In the "Settings" menu, scroll down until you reach "Format" and then select. You will be asked to confirm that you wish to format. Select "Yes."

Wait for the screen to say "Formatting Complete." You have now cleared all the files from your Sansa Clip and reset it to factory settings.

Resetting a Frozen Sansa Clip

Push the power button up and hold it for 20 seconds. Release it, then turn it on again.

Go to the Sansa website and download the "Sansa Firmware Updater."

Select "Run" when the updater installs. (Installation will take less than two minutes.)
.

Wait for the Sansa Firmware Updater to run through its system test. It will ask you to connect the Sansa Clip to the computer to update your Sansa's software.

Connect the Sansa Clip. Remove it from the computer when instructed. If this process does not unfreeze your Sansa Clip, contact Sansa support at the Sansa Firmware Updater website.

It says i have no connection between my handheld and my computer when i try to hot sync

If you are trying to HotSync to a Macintosh, you need to install Lycestra's PDiQue software available at http://www.lycestra.com/ique.html before HotSyncing is enabled. PDiQue enables a USB conduit between your Mac and the Garmin iQue 3600.

I have a ique 3600 and was working fine until I plugged in the ac adapter to the bottom of the unit. It won't turn on. I did a soft reset and now I get a flashing Palm Software screen. I even tried a reset...

Mine has gone into the looping/flashing Palm Screen and then displays the hard reset do you want to erase everything. I fixed it by pushing the up button when it gave me the chance to delete everything and it fixed it.

Cant get it to work

If this is an IQue 3600 then you will need to install the Palm Desktop from your original IQue disk in order to sync with your new laptop. The Microsoft active-sync is for a PDA using Windows (Garmin M3 and M5 are windows based PDA w/GPS).

Garmin Ique 3600

May be a hardware issue. I had similar behavior when I replaced my IQue 3600's battery. If the circuitboard inside wasn't seated properly on the contacts coming from the battery, the iQue would keep rebooting. Start by checking that all the external screws are snug (but not over-tight). If not, you can try to open the case to check the two screws inside holding the circuit board. But I'll leave that up to you, since I can't honestly guarantee that you're experiencing the same problem. (After all, you seem to be sure that it has something to do with the software...and you may be right.)
