IF YOUR DRUM HAS CHANGED POSITION, IT MOST LIKELY HAS SOMETHING BROKEN INSIDE. SOME DRYERS HAVE A SINGLE SUPPORT IN THE MIDDLE OF THE REAR OF THE DRUM. YOU WOULD SEE THREE OR FOUR SCREWS IN THE INSIDE CENTER OF THE BACK OF THE DRUM. IF THAT BREAKS, IT WILL CAUSE THE DRUM TO TIP DOWNWARD IN THE BACK.

SOME DRYER DRUMS ARE SUPPORTED WITH A SUPPORT IN THE FRONT THAT THE FRONT OF THE DRUM HANGS ON.
THE DRYER WOULD HAVE TO BE TAKEN APART TO VERIFY WHAT HAS BROKEN AND NEEDS REPLACED.

Zanussi zwf 1221 will not turn drum, the end light flashes the water goes into the drum and drains out when a program is selected but the drum will not turn at all. You can turn it by hand and it moves...

you need to check the pressure switch inside the washing machine there a small hose connected with the pressure switch to sense that the level of water inside the drum is ok if this hose blocked the machine will not run

My zanussi essential 1200 6kg makes a really loud knocking noise when it spins. How do i repair it please?

Firstly, put your hand on the silver drum and revolve it back wards and forwards(side to side) ,if it feels as though it is or sounds rumbly the bearings have gone-not unknown with this make at 3 years of age!If this seems all ok,put one paddle in front of you and try to press down the drum at the front lip to see if it moves in relation to the front of the plastic tank-your trying to prove that the bearing shaft spider assembly hasn`t cracked-3 arms which are bolted between the drum and tank that holds the drum in place ie the bearing shaft-these arms match up to the 3 paddles. The spider is made from an AL2 alloy which is attacked by a fungus and makes it brittles so it cracks!!-strange to believe ,but true!!!!Suggest you turn of the power to the machine, undo the two lid screws at the rear of the machine and remove the w/top lid.Have a look at where the rear half and front half of the plastic tank are joined-i think from memory that these two are factory heat wielded so that it is impossible to dismantle the tank to replace the bearing or assoc parts even if you wanted to due to cost.Have alook and see!best of luck

My zanussi washer dryer wjs 1397 w drum is not turning

It is most likely that the drive belt is broken and needs repalcing, If you remove the rear panel it will be obvious if it has broken *** there will be a lrge flywheel attached to the drum and no drive belt going to the motor, near the bottom of the machine. These are easy to obtain from any domestic appliance spares store or mail order. They are also very easy to fit.If the drive belt is in place and is reasonably tight (taught) then you may have an issue with the motor. clutch or brake.

The belt is acessable from the front of the dryer you can remove it by popping the top up then taking off the front of the dryer off the drum will come out now place the belt around the drum and put back in now the belt goes around the drum the motor pulley and under the tentioner pulley replace front and top and you are good to go thank you

Unsure how to access drier to put on new drive belt

Here is my own solution...
Disconnect from mains (of course) remove top (2 screws at back near top) Unplug electric connectors (on back panel, top RHS). Make sure note what goes where! Lie unit down on front remove screws (2) holding the drum spindle cover (centre of back) and remove cover pop off the circlip holding drum spindle, and washer unscrew back panel - hex headed screws round outside of back Remove screws at bottom of back panel which screw into the plastic vent housing (3 I think) Lift whole back off. (there's a plastic lip at bottom - need to pull away from this a bit) The drum spindle will be unsupported now, so don't move unit Full access now to drum and motor beneath Get and put on new belt reassemble.
Actually, having got into unit, found could not get belt from local spares shop (it had closed down), so bought new drier!

Drive belt on Zanussi TD520

You will need to take the drum out of the rear bearing by undoing one of the sides and the back panel. Use selotape to hold the new belt in place and use a longish 'philips' screwdriver so that it does not cut the belt if it slips and ease the belt over the pulley with grooves that is near the fan. It is tricky!

belts do not figure 8
they look something like this
f6516ed.jpg the front panel comes off, to access the drum without removing bearings etc, and the belt can be placed easily, around the drum and motor pulley.
then pull the tensioner hard against its spring, loop the belt around the tensioner and allow the spring to tension the belt.
