Question about Fuji FinePix Z1 Digital Camera

4 Answers

Dpi issue In the f-Mode menu I have set my camera to the highest available quality, ie: 6Mf. However, when I open the pictures on my PC (in any of the proprietary imaging software), it shows as having a resolution of only 72 dpi. For print purposes I need to achieve at least 300 dpi (600 preferable). This is not a memory issue as I have a 2gBt memory card. Can anyone advise? Please note my camera is a Fuji FinePix S6500 fd John Tomlin jt@johntomlin.me.uk

Hey john

try to increase the iso level on your camera. this will or might increase the dpi solution on your computer. the higher the filesize and resolution, the higher the dpi.

with regards to coolguy008 post, you must indeed try to switch it to a different mode to achieve a higher resolution.

thanks for using fixya.

You will have to use external controls to change to 640 x 480 or 320 x 240 pixels, both at 30fps.

    Mode Switch
: At the right hand side of the camera's
top panel, this switch controls the camera's exposure modes. Options
are Still Image, or Movie (Movie records moving images with sound, at
    either 640 x 480 or 320 x 240 pixels, both at 30fps.)

Setting dpi on my nikon d3100

DPI (dots per inch) is an output specification and is irrelevant to the camera. The camera puts a value into the field simply because it has to put something there. The DPI is set by the printing program when it prints a picture. A picture printed at 4x6 will obviously have more dots per inch than the same picture printed at 8x10.

Gambar kurang terang

Hello, P'Hendy
This can be caused by these things: 1. Bad Camera settings. Make sure to set picture quality to highest and set your flash correctly while take pictures ( or just set it in auto). 2. Bad The printer. Have you use good printer? I suggest you to use printer with capability up to 4800 dot per inch (dpi) 3. Bad ink and paper. You should use good quality ink and photo paper.

When I turn camera on to take picture, I get a screen that says "1M 423". It is set on "Auto" which is also indicated on the viewing screen. How do I fix it?

"1M" stands for 1 megapixel. The camera is set take pictures in 1280x960 pixels mode. To change this press the F button and select another mode. 6M is the highest quality, but will reduce the number of pictures, you can take before the card is full. "423" indicates available space on the card. This number gets lower as you increase quality.

Photo resolution

Sony H1 takes photos at 72 dpi by default. But the picture quality will be good. if you want to convert it to 300dpi open the picture in adobe Photoshop and select image size and change resolution to 300 dpi. but the file size will be very high to up load. if you want to reduce the file size select the image size in adobe photoshop and reduce it according to your requirement. if my solution proves good please rate it. Regards.

Setting dpi on canon ixus 800 IS

You can download manuals here.

As dpi is generally a printing specification, the size you set on your camera depends on what size prints you want to make. If you want to print 4" x 6" prints at 300 dpi, you can set the size to M2. If you want to print 5" x 7" prints at 300 dpi, set the size to M1. Anything larger, set the size to L. With L selected, an 8" x 10" will still be about 300 dpi, but any larger print will be at less than 300 dpi.
