Question about Canon PIXMA iP4300 InkJet Photo Printer
My new Canon ip4300 will not print. It gives the message "document printing cannot be executed because the paper output tray is closed. Open the paper output tray. Printing will restart." And it doesn't work. Help!!! I'm grad school and NEED NEED NEED this printer to work!
Apparently a solution has already been posted here: http://www.fixya.com/support/t345435-ip4300canon_printer
The author provides instructions on opening the printer and gluing the sensor into the "open" position (assuming that the sensor still works).

Further to this, the sensors can give way. Try soldering or pushing the two connections together. If you need to test, you will have to put the lid back on but you can leave the sensor out of the rinter by draping between the cover and the frame of the putput tray (be careful not to pinch it. AAMOF I leave my sensor out as even though I've pinched it together it has a habit of coming undone.
