I live in Canada and as you know, the iPhone is not here yet (and coming up at a very expensive price). I was told that I could buy an iPhone, unlock it and use it with a SIM Card from any telecom provider; however, if there is an update to be made, the iPhone would lock again.
1. What are the types of updates and how often this would happen? 2. Is there a way to block the iPhone to get updated?
a 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.
best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repairmen in the US.
the service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of (from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones).
click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need. goodluck!

I suggest to know the lock/unlock status of an iPhone contact the
customer support and get the necessary info about whether your iPhone is with...If it is locked with a
particular network and you want to use it with other sim then you need
to unlock the iPhone. To unlock an iPhone the remote unlock service would
be a better option because, you need not give your mobile to someone
else nor do you have any chance to enter the wrong unlock codes. To get
such an unlocking service for your iPhone approach Wickedunlock.com and
by submitting the country and network to which the mobile is locked to
you will be able to remove the restriction from the respective
network. This will be a permanent unlocking solution.
Hi, You can unlock iPhone 3GS by Remote unlocking!! The unlock is permanent and you can get this unlocking service from online sites. Prounlocking.com is where i unlocked my iPhone, they offered good unlocking service at reasonable price!! Check it out!!
Jailbreak-in simple terms, is modifying the software of your iPhone to maximize its functionality, bypassing some restrictions from Apple, like being able to install apps which are not approved by Apple. Now let's talk about Unlock. Almost all iPhones came locked with a certain carrier (SIM), for instance, AT&T in the US and Fido/Rogers in Canada. That means, if you put other SIM card on the iPhone, its won't be recognized and you won't have any cellular signal. For somebody to be able to use another SIM on his iPhone, the iPhone must first be unlocked, otherwise, like i said, the phone functionality of the iPhone won't work. Also, everytime you restore the iPhone, you're gonna need to have the legit SIM to be able to activate it, without activation, you won't be able to use the iPhone. Now, the Spirit JB. The new 3.1.3 Spirit JB does not support any unlocking tool. That means, even if you've jailbroken your iPhone already, you still can't use it coz you still need to activate it with a legit SIM. If you're in the US, try to borrow some AT&T SIM card from any of your friends just to activate your iPhone. Hi, iPhone 3G's are currently unlockable without a SIM card. (Which are illegal in Canada). The only other 3G provider in Canada that you would be able to use the phone with would be Rogers but they share the same network and have nearly identical plans. There has been progress in efforts towards unlocking the iPhone but the time line is somewhere near November.
where do you live ? If you live in canada or U.S .Give me a sound , i'd pay you cash to take your iphone. Sorry , i can't fix it , but i need it for part.
Will do cash on delivery , it's secure for both of us.
Yes, done properly, unlocked iPhones retain full functionality. For obvious reasons, however, you do not want to upgrade them to new firmware revisions when Apple releases them as new firmwares will typically also reflash the baseband, causing the phone to be re-locked (unless you've used a hardware unlock method).
There is no legit way to unlock it or use it in Canada, though you may be able to use it as an iPod...but Apple gave AT&T a five year exclusive for service in the States...I am sure they are working on a Canadian model, though.
