Cursor not showing up

Well the touchpad driver could be erased or a virus may have damaged it.
You should go to Acers website and then support and download drivers and get the right touchpad driver.

Install it and see if it works.
Use TAB to navigate for now. or use mouse keys.
This means keep pressing shift really fast and accessibility option will show up.
Use tab and space bar to navigate to MOUSE TAB and select Mouse Keys and hit enter.
Done for now you can use the numpad to operate the cursor.
Second option is to go out and buy a USB mouse.

Worst case scenario: Touchpad is damaged and needs replacing.
Or simply a cable got disconnected and needs reconnecting by taking the laptop apart
Get Your Laptop Mouse to Show Up if It Disappears
Using a laptop is as efficient as a desktop computer to complete tasks, use the Internet and talk with friends on a daily basis.
If your laptop's mouse cursor disappears, there are various tricks and solutions available to help get your mouse pointer back to resume your work and current computer tasks within minutes.
And this can be accomplished without the use of software applications or advanced computer skills.
Press "Ctrl" + "Alt" + "Delete" and choose "Task Manager" if your mouse pointer becomes available, pressing the keys simultaneously.
This will allow you to close any open programs that may be causing issues with your mouse pointer.
Plug in an external mouse to allow the computer to attempt to find the device, prompting the mouse pointer to appear which may solve the problem or allow you to temporarily work with a mouse pointer.

Reboot your computer by pressing and holding the laptop's power button for a few seconds.
This will reset your laptop's current open settings and most often allow your computer's mouse pointer to reappear.

Upgrade your laptop's video and graphic card drivers (if available) to ensure the mouse pointer disappearing or flickering is not a hardware issue.
Select "Start" > "Control Panel" > "Hardware and Sound" > "Device Manager" to view your current graphic and video settings.
Visit your device manufacturer's official website to download the most current version of your drivers.

Restoring Missing CD/DVD drives from my computer

The cd/Dvd drive has disappeared from windows explorer and system folder "my computer " A glance in the device manager shows that obviously there is some serious problem .the entries are marked with a yellow exclamation marks .This is also confirmed by opening "properties' in the context menu of the device ,it reports "error code 19"an error has occurred in registry .

This kind of problem can be solved by changing some entry in registry .open registry editor with "start" "run" in run type regedit and click "ok" and go to Hkey_local_machine>system>current control set>control class>{4D36E965-E325-11CE-BFC1-08002BE10318} in the right side of the window, delete both the values"uper filters"and "lower filters".To do that select the successive entries press (del),and confirms the security query that will pop. After restarting your system the drive will be back again.

Matshita BD-cmb uj-120 not present anywhere on my acer aspire 5920g yet its the default cd/dvd drive! help please.

Use HIREN CD. See if there the cdrom is working. If it's working, it's a problem with your windows. Reinstall and you will solve this. If Cdrom doesn't work even in Hiren - change the cdrom unit !

CD stuck in Asus desktop optical drive

On the CDrom drive, there is a small hole near the button to open the drive. Insert the tip of a straightened paper clip into the hole and press gently. The drive should open to allow you to remove the disk that is stuck.

Hi, I have an Toshiba Satellite X205 9349 laptop and my problem is I can no longer find my DVD CD Drive anywhere in my computer. Not showing up in Devices, my computer etc. It's like the drive has...

Go to control panel, system, devicemanager and see if it is listed there under +dvd-cd click in the plus sign to see the details, if find it and uninstall it then restart your pc so windows can detect it and reinstall it.

Or if that fails,

On of these 3 things can be the problem..1. the connecting cable on the drive has come loose, 2. the drive is taking a ****, 3. the cable connection to the motherboard is loose or going bad.. Turn computer off..unplug it ,,open side panel locate the eide or sata cable to drive and push it in,,, on the board also,, close it up and reboot..if that doesnt help then its the drive or the board

PC do not recognize DVD drive and do not show it on screen anymor

It is probably a hardware problem but I would go into the BIOS screen which it gives you instructions when your first booting up on how to do this. One inside the bios screen, which is usually blue, find a list of what hardwares are pre programmed in, maybe under drive managment. Almost all computers have different wordings. See if it listed amogst your hardware, if it is, it may be turned off some how, see if you can turn it back on.
