Burning smell There is a burning smell when I run my Kirby Ultimate G.  The smell seems to be coming from the belt.  I looked at the brushes and they are spinning so the belt is working.  the Post on the vacuum is getting very hot not sure if that is normal.  What is causing this?

When I run the sweeper it smells hot. The roller is turning and the belt is ok but under the belt it is black like the rubber belt has burnt. What do I need to do?

Unlock the sweeper brushes and take them out. on each end is a cup bearing and should be free of debris.
then check around and under the belt and likely there is debris wrapped around it.
the post is getting hot as your pulling too much of a load.
though if it continues the motor may have a bad set of motor brushes (inside the motor) or bad wiring (kinda unlikely).

I have the G series Kirby silver vacuum, I was vacuuming and started to smell some burning. Looked down and my green light was off also. What could it be? PLS HELP

Your belt is burning and will eventually wear down and break. The green light comes from copper brushes on your roller creating an electrical current that lights the little green light. As long as the roller is turning, the light will stay on. There may be something jamming the roller (hair, string, paper, etc). Clean the roller off and replace your belt. If you don't replace the belt it will break soon enough. Once you start smelling the "rubber burning" smell it's and indication that your belt has deteriorated at some point and has a weak spot in it. Clean the roller and replace the belt and it should be fine.

Is it worth trying to fix my kirby vaccum? The motor smells like its burning when we run it

Generally the smell is the rubber belt that attaches from the motor to the brush.
Make sur the brush rollers are clean and spin freely, check the belt at the same time.
Please let me know if this helps.

The belt burnt out and it seems as though the red arrown does not release the belt. Like it is backwards from the green arrow. It had a burning smell and the belt broke. Then the second belt started to...

It sounds as if there may be a piece of the broken belt in there. Look carefully with a flash light and remove any remnants you find, using a pair of pliers if you have to.

Also, remove the entire brush roller assembly and clean it up, once again looking for any debris that may cause an obstruction. If you can't clear the problem I recommend taking it to a vacuum repair as this is too expensive a vacuum not to. Good luck and write back and let me know if you have any questions. I have worked on a number of kirby's so I may be able to assist you further.

Smells (burnt rubber) like it's overheating when I vacuum

I would check the brush roller and make sure it turns good and replace the belt on it . When you smell burning rubber most of the time it is the belt .

Burning rubber smell when the vacuum is on.

it sounds like the belt may be burning like the roller bar is stuck maybe or the belt is stretched and is burning itself off

Belts Burning

Yes, replace the brush roll, the ends or end is probably bad and causing the belt to slip and burn up.

Kirby Ultimate G will not suck with main brush head attachment

You may need a new belt, it may have stretched enough so it isn't turning the brush roll anymore.
