Question about Dell Latitude C610 Notebook

1 Answer

Monitor issues. here's the deal, i spilled juice on the uppermost right corner of my laptop recently. it wasn't as disastrous as i thought it'd be since the computer still boots up just fine and all of the buttons on my keyboard even work, BUT. after having it on for a while (the amount of time varies, sometimes five minutes and sometimes fifteen, etc, right now i've had it on for at least thirty without an issue) the screen goes completely blank. the laptop does NOT shut off, all the lights stay on and if i happen to have a song or movie playing when this happens, the audio continues to work as it should, but the screen stays blank. does anyone know what could be causing this?

Plz boot in safe mood and uninstall the display driver and reboot normally.if your problem persist then download the latest display driver from the net and install it.

My kids accidentally spilled orange juice on my laptop. It continue to work for a little but now the screen is black. What can I do?

Sugar is the worst. If you had immediately unplugged and removed battery you may have had a chance. Once sugary drinks get in it's almost a death sentence for electronic devices. If it's valuable take it to a Qualified Computer Tech, if not right it off as a learning moment. If you want, this is a detailed explaination: http://www.guardian.co.uk/technology/askjack/2012/jul/05/drink-spilled-on-laptop

Laptop monitor blacks out but works fine with an external monitor

If your laptop appears to boot up and the hard disk LEDflashes, then the problem is probably a back light fault. This can be a faultyinverter or a faulty CCFL lamp. Please click on this link and follow myinstructions to identify the fault and possible fix :- http://www.fixya.com/support/r3598095-faulty_laptop_lcd_screen

My keyboard does not work but mouse does

Have you recently had any accidental spills on the keyboard? If not, how old is it... it could just have deteriorated contacts due to age, or possibly a manufactuer defect?

If its within a year old, contact Toshiba and send it in... it should be covered under warranty, as long as it wasn't a consumer accident... such as dropping it or spills.

HOW do I remove the keyboard on a Gateway Laptop Model T-6330U, I spilled juice on keypad and heard sizzling when I restarted, and monitor fadded out. An external monitor works fine, and computer boots up...

You could send the laptop in for repair but it could be quite pricey, it sounds like the LCD is toast. If your keypad still works using an external monitor then you won't have to replace that.

Water spill on my AOC2216Vw LCD Monitor

Hey man, thanks for coming to me. Um yea, massaging may help but too hard will do damage since it is LCD is Liquid Crystal Display and it is fragile and easy to damage. The water should clear up in a few months, if not i would look at replacing it which can be costly. Here is a link to fix your unstuck pixels

Now im not liking that bit about how you mentioned was spreading so leave it for about two days, give the therapy for the screen a try and let me know if the laptop screen is healing. For the moment if you have one i recommend you hook up a VGA Monitor, old school stuff if you can and give the LCD a rest. I will post as a solution but comment back and i will keep helping you as much as you need it.
