NO RESET ON THE DRYER,BUT SOUNDS LIKE YOU MAY HAVE A PROBLEM IN YOUR FUSE BOX. IF YOU HAVE A VOLT METER, CHECK FOR 240VOLTS AT THE DRYER OUTLET. IF YOU HAVE 240VOLTS, THERE ARE A FEW ITEMS THAT WILL KEEP THE DRYER FROM RUNNING.
MOST COMMON FAILURE IS THE THERMAL FUSE LOCATED BEHIND THE BACK PANEL DOWN NEAR THE EXHAUST DUCT. IT USUALLY IS WHITE WITH TWO WIRES ATTACHED TO IT. IF IT IS BAD YOU WILL MEASURE 120 VOLTS AT THE TWO TERMINALS OF THE FUSE. YOU CAN JUMPER THE TWO WIRES TOGETHER, BUT MAKE SURE YOU AND THE WIRES ARE ISOLATED FROM EACH OTHER AND GROUND.
IF IT IS BAD , THE DRYER WILL RUN WITH THE WIRES JUMPED AND THE START BUTTON PUSHED.
REPLACE THE THERMAL FUSE.

I have a 2002 ford f150 crewcab and Im not getting any power to the fuel pump. Any suggestions?

Power comes from the ignition switch to the fuse panel. Do have power at both sides of the pump fuse? From the fuse it goes to the pump relay. Pull the relay. You should have power at 2 pins and ground at 2 pins. Jump the 2 large pins in the fuse panel. Check the pump plug for power it should be there. Check for power and ground in the plug, then check for power and ground at the body/frame.

Passenger power window switch failed. Now the driver side control will not work the passenger window. Why?

Whew. Doing electrical blind is a tough one. It can be several things. So, by process of elimination, we can find the problem. 1st off, the fuse probably blew, so replace it, then lets runs down the line. Remove inner door panel on passenger door Take your time finding all the fasteners before you pull hard and damage inner door trim panel. They have a way of cleverly hiding the screws and clips. Unplug window motor. Caution some inner door metal is sharp. Then with a continuity tester, check if you have power INTO each switch (key on) if you do, check if you have power going OUT when you activate switch, if not bad switch. Check fuse again that it's good. Next, assuming switch has power coming in and going out when activated, using same tester, check plug by window motor. Should have power to one of the wires when window switch is pushed (one wire for up, another wire for down) if not, a wire may be pinched somewhere, check door opening and inside door. If yes power at plug in when pushing switch, the window regulator (track and gearbox might be jammed or worn out) OR the motor went south(bad) causing fuse to blow. Make sure to test both switches. If new parts are out of budget, used parts work fine. Motor, regulator, or switches. More then likely the motor went out. Good luck. Oh yea, test your tester on the battery. Nothings worse than doing all that work only to find out your tester was bad from the start and gotta do it all over again. lol

What do I do now

If the dishwasher is not available, you can carry out the following checks:

Step 1: Check to make sure the power supply. If it has a plug in the wall outlet, then check the wires, plugs and sockets, to ensure that they work properly. Also check the control socket of the switch, make sure it is closed. The vast majority of embedded dishwasher are directly connected with the line. Check the main control panel on the fuse is blown, the circuit breaker is disconnected, then recovery circuit. If your home is old-fashioned dishwasher, it may be associated with the sub-control panel is connected. Check the fuse or breaker panel, and then restore the circuit.

Step 2: If the line has been energized and the wall outlet is controlled by a switch, the switch is likely bad. Use a voltage tester switch. Remove the switch cover, a probe is placed at one end of the tester, another probe placed in the other end. If the detected light switch is good; If you do not, it is bad, you need to replace a switch of the same model new.

Step 3: Make sure that the the Xian bowl machine's door shut furrowed good. Only when the latch snap, the dishwasher before running. Check latch should shut door and lock, firmly hold down the latch, then the control knob to the "start". If the dishwasher can work, said latch is broken and needs to be cleaned, reinforcement or replacement.

Step 4: Make sure that the water supply, and the water temperature is high enough. The failure of the water heater will prevent the dishwasher water. Check the kitchen sink with hot water or bathroom. If we can release hot water, the water heater should be no problem.

Step 5: Make sure that the control panel controls are set correctly. Button controls the more new more sensitive. Make sure that these keys are firmly safety in the corresponding position.

Dryer wont start

see this causes and fix it. God bless you
1. No power to the dryer
Make sure there's power getting to the dryer. Check for a tripped circuit breaker or a blown fuse. Check the wall socket for power with a voltmeter or by plugging something else in. Sometimes the power cord disconnects or burns at the dryer, if this is the case, the wiring and the terminal block must be repaired or replaced.

2. Door switch / Door switch actuator lever
The dryer would not start with a broken door switch. Replace the door switch if found defective.

Most dryers have a door switch actuator lever - when you close a dryer door, it presses against the lever, which actuates the door switch. If the lever is broken, the switch would not activate and the dryer would not start. Replace the lever, if broken.

Note: Door switch actuator lever usually comes with the door switch assembly and it is recommended to get the whole assembly since there is almost no price difference between the door switch assembly and just the lever. Check your model for more details. Thermal Fuse The thermal fuse helps to prevent a dryer fire by shutting off power to the dryer if it overheats. If the dryer won't start check this fuse first. Test the thermal fuse with an ohm meter or continuity checker. This is the most common part to fail when the dryer won't start. Once the thermal fuse has blown, it has to be replaced. It can not be reset.

My mother accidentally pulled the door open on the washing machine when it was still locked. Now it won't do anything. It would not even finish the cycle. We were able to get the clothes out and...

Due pulling of the door forcibly the door interlock switch has damaged. So the door cannot lock properly &r the door lock switch is not functioning. Replace the door interlock switch.

If your washer doesn't seem to work at all, check these:

No power
Lid switch
No power Check to see whether power is getting to the washing machine. Is it plugged in? Has a fuse blown or is a circuit breaker tripped?

Lid switch If the lid switch is defective, your washer can't spin and may not function at all. The switch is inside the washing machine main housing near the door frame. Often you have to raise or open the top or front of the washer to get to the switch. If it's defective, you need to replace it.

Some machines have a special lid-switch fuse near the lid switch, inside the control panel. If this fuse blows, the unit won't fill with water until you replace the fuse.

Hoover washing machine does not switch on

Could be a bunch of things... when you say it isn't switching on, you mean that the lights on the display aren't lighting up?

You're going to have to open it up to be sure that there isn't a broken or disconnected wire somewhere, (kind of unlikely, but possible) failing that I would say it is probably the circuit board behind the control panel, on most models, the power goes directly to the wall to the board, so if panel doesn't even light up that is where the problem is.

To open, remove the screws from the back side of the top panel, slide the top back and lift off. Then you can get to the screws holding the control panel on (it also may be held on with plastic snap hooks). Once you get access to the panel, changing the board is pretty easy if you remember to disconnect the cords one at a time, and reconnect them to the new board so that you don't plug anything into the wrong place.

As with all appliances, be sure to unplug from the wall before you begin.

Control panel went off and hence it stopped working

It may be the fuse, which is usually located behind the grille or on the floor of the oven behind the control panel or between the door switches.

If the fuse is good, it may be an open thermostat or thermal cutout (TCO) / thermal fuse on or near the magnetron or on top of the cavity / body of the oven.

When checking TCOs or thermostats, if it has a hood fan thermostat, that should read open, as opposed to the others, which should read closed.

If the cavity thermostat needs to be checked or replaced you'll need to pull the oven from the wall.

You can download Frigidaire / Whirlpool installation instructions here.

If it went dead almost immediately after pressing the Start pad, that's usually a shorted high-voltage capacitor.

If it went dead a few seconds after pressing the Start pad, that's usually a failing high-voltage transformer.

If it goes dead or blows the breaker (or GFI) when you plug it in or open or close the door, then there's a problem with a door switch or door switch mount.

If it's intermittent or random, it may be a bad connection, usually on the control board or a loose fuse holder, or even an intermittent fuse.

You can usually find helpful exploded view diagrams and order parts by entering your full model number here.

There should also be a "mini-manual" (tech sheet) hidden inside the unit behind the control panel or hidden on the left side behind the grille, which is very helpful when troubleshooting, testing, and locating components.

At our Web site, we have a video available showing how to remove a typical over the range control panel assembly in under 5 minutes.

Blow out Fuse

Normally this would be a bad door switch, but it may also be a broken tab on the door switch mounts.

On that model, the fuse is located on the door switch mounts (called the door hook) so you've been there, and that's the area to focus on.

The hooklike projecitons on the door (called the latch heads) are held secure by the door hook so the switches are activated properly.

Sometimes a little tab breaks on the door hook which causes the switch to rotate out of place.

Other times, one or more switch will stick or short, and blow the fuse or breaker.

If you or a friend decide to look into it, we have critical safety information, info on door switch diagnosis and replacement, and disassembly information at our site, and our link is at our listing here on FixYa: http://tinyurl.com/yzjozk

You can order Sharp parts from Tritronics at http://www.wehaveparts.com

You can find exploded view diagrams for this model here: http://www3.sears.com/ (3 is correct)

Here is some extra info for you:

A microwave can be dead for many reasons.

If it goes dead for a while during or after cooking then comes back on, the magnetron is probably overheating and causing the magnetron thermostat to open. Then when it cools, it closes the circuit and allows power through again.

If it's intermittent or random, it may be a bad connection, usually on the control board or a loose fuse holder.

If it went dead almost immediately after pressing the Start pad, that's usually a shorted high-voltage capacitor.

If it went dead a few seconds after pressing the Start pad, that's usually a failing high-voltage transformer.

If it goes dead or blows the breaker when you plug it in or open or close the door, then there's a problem with a door switch or door switch mount.

If the fuse is good, it may be an open thermostat or thermal cutout on or near the magnetron or on top of the cavity / body of the oven.
