open mycomputer u see there a scanner icon doble click on it then open microsoft scanner and camera wizrd click on next the after put the document in a scanner u whant to scan then after click on priview then after click on next then after click next then finesh

Many issues are caused when the HP All-in-One is connected to the computer using a USB cable before the HP All-in-One software is installed on the computer. If you connected the HP All-in-One to your computer before the software installation screen prompts you to do so, you must follow these steps: Troubleshooting common setup issues 1. Disconnect the USB cable from the computer. 2. Uninstall the software (if you have already installed it). 3. Restart your computer. 4. Turn off the HP All-in-One, wait one minute, then restart it. 5. Reinstall the HP All-in-One software. CAUTION: Do not connect the USB cable to the computer until prompted by the software installation screen.

i just talked with hp,
They suggest i (re) install the right software version
click on drivers.
type in 6310 <ENTER>
then click on the right model link
then on the right Computersystem/OS
and then you can download

i had the same problem with vista home premium. vista does not support one touch scanning (pressing the scan button on the printer). to use scanner with vista home os use the paint application and start scanning with the file section. step by step:
start (windows) icon lower left tool bar
from scanner or camera
the hp should start working - note: i sent a short cut to the desk top for the paint program for future use

open the top covers put the paper(s) in the automatic document feeder, use the software to scan and viola............ u wikk get them scanned....
