AKAI 27 INCH LCD/HDTV/DVD PLAYER combo LCT 2721AS The TV wont turn on problem. When I tried to turn it on the red light on the chassey gose from red to green showing that the unit is powering up and then it turns it self back off and the red power indicator light comes back on. I have a DVD in the player that is stuck because the TV won't power up. I have had this TV for only 15 months and may never buy another AKAI again at this rate.

Same prolem has anybody got there tv fixed ?and how much was it to be repaired did the company help anybody out.

  • d64schweer Jul 07, 2008

TV won't power up as described by others. Called AKAI service line and received numbers of authorized repair shops. All shops either out of business or wouldn't return calls. Used local repair shop to determine parts are not available. No solution found to repair $1000 TV that's been used for 2 years.

mine is 32 inch and same problem bad power supply on their sets

  • Anonymous Sep 03, 2008

Have the same problem with mine, I have heard that it mite be the power supply or the main unit. I got that from a TV repair guy, he try to order the part for me but he said, that part is not available. the part runs about $79.00 - $125.00. He was charging me $150.00 to repair it. I waited for 3 month and the part never arrived. I got sick of waiting I just took my TV back without repairs. Am still looking for the part hoping someone will have it in stock. I used my TV for my computer like a monitor. It is cheaper getting the part then buying another one like it. The company should be offering these part for free or at least half of price because its making their company look bad. Like a call back product type of deal.

I have the same problem with my Akia tv it is not even year old. and forget about trying to get with costumer service..

  • nikki6l Dec 18, 2008

We have had our t.v less than 6 months. The company has gone out of business. There is no way to replace the power supply. But I would follow up on the class legal action. Sorry I was of no help but I'm in the same boat and it has been so stressful we just went out and bought another t.v.

Sounds like maybe a power surge killed the TV. If it is newer, try contacting the Manufacturer for warranty repairs.

Power packs can be repaired, and most time it is simply capacitors. I don't charge an arm and a leg

Akai 27 inch Flat with built in DVD wont show picture/turn on

I just purchased a referbished Akia LCT37Z4AD. I plugged it in and it worked great but it still needed moved into place, on the entertainment center. Well it done the exact same thing while moving it. I simply Moved it around and it turned back on. I believe this is happening because of a hazard mechanizme that trips when moved or shacken. Something like an electric heater does when knocked over. Not 100% sure and I just started researching it so I will write back when I know the exact problem.

Akia 27 inch tv wont turn on

It is your power supply Capactors that are blown...Remove the back of the tv and look at the power supply and look for the round capacitors that have blown (see the non-flat tops usually w/discoloration).....Usually it is 3 of the 1000uf 16v capacitors that need to be upgraded....

Just pull use a soldering iron and remove the leaking/blown ones and replace with higher voltage ones....I used Panasonic ECA-1EHG102 25V 1000uf ones from Digi-Key (Digi-Key p/n P5544-ND)....If it is the two larger ones that are leaking/blown (1000uf 35V) replace those with higher quality Panasonic ECA-1VHG102 ones as well (Digi-Key p/n P5555-ND)...

I just did this to my TV and it is now working again....

Hope that helps, Mike

Sony 27"TV will not turn on

The picture tube on your tv is dead, you need to replace it. It probably will be worthing just purchasing a new set, because the cost of repairing it will be close to the purchase of a new one.
