I found a troubleshooting procedure you had posted. I was wondering if it applies to my set, or if you have the one I need. Basically, when I turn on the set, the starting tune comes on, the middle green light blinks for about 25 seconds, goes off, starts the 25 second sycle a second time, and a third. After the third, all three lights start blinking. Now, I have read about this condition, an it probably is the lamp or ballast. However, the think that bothers me is that I have no sound, except for the start tune, during the three tries. Also, I do not hear the color wheel spin up. All I hear are the colloing fans running.
Thanks in advance.

Here is the procedure for resetting the lamp timer. This is a quick reference guide to show you how to reset your Samsung DLP TV’s lamp hour meter or hour counter. Resetting the counter is a very simple procedure. Begin with the TV powered off. Point your remote towards your TV. Press: Mute + 1 + 8 + 2 + Power.
Your TV set should now say “Loading Factory”.
Browse down to “Option” then press Enter (or the right cursor button).
NOTE: The Mute+1+8+2 buttons needs to be pressed down consecutively and fairly quickly. If your TV does not enter the service menu after using this combination, you can substitute MENU instead of MUTE. This seems to work for some sets. Also, the right cursor arrow also acts as the ENTER button, so try it if you’re having difficulty with the ENTER button. To exit the service menu, hit press the EXIT button or just turn off your TV (remember not to turn on your TV immediately afterwards!).

Assuming that the laptop is hooked up to the projection TV using the correct cables or connectors and still no video display on the TV, perhaps you need to lower down the laptops screen resolution first using your laptop's screen display before pressing the Fn + F? key.
To lower the screen resolution, right click on any clear area of your desktop, select Properties. click on the Settings tab, move cursor of Screen resolution to farthest left, Apply, Color Quality to lowest, Apply. Additionally, click on the Advanced button, Monitor tab, select lowest Screen refresh rate.
Hope that this be of some help. Pls post back how things turned out or should you need additional information.
