Cannot play this sound appears

When i try to play a song it appears "cannot play this sound"and while playing song in music player it appears "playback failed".whatever music it be in memory stick or in phone memory this message appears.so that when somebody calls me i cannot hear the ringtone .on screen it shows that "calling" but no sound.but if we switch off the mobile and then turn it on then the problem solves. but if we play some tracks again the message appears. can you please help me?

I get the same problem with a Sony Ericsson z310i - switching it off and on again solves it short term... haven't found the long term fix yet.

yes, I checed the mode and it was normal. The ringtones are ones that it previously played without a problem, but suddenly it stopped playing them.

MP3 players can only play music files in mp3 file format. You can download mp3 music files from the Internet to your computer and then copy them to your MP3 player using the USB cable. For your CD collection, you need to convert your CDs to mp3 music files onto your computer or download them from the Internet and then copy them to your MP3 player after you have connected the USB cable to the MP3 player and the computer.
You can do this using Windows Media player and Rip the CDs - Media Player will create a MP3 music file for each music track. Click on this link for instruction on converting music files to mp3 file format :- http://www.fixya.com/support/r5798418-creating_transferring_mp3_music_files

Wont play the whole song

Hello,

Sounds like the player is running in INTRO mode, only playing the first part of each song. To change playback mode, follow the steps as described below.

Switch the player ON and start music playback:
1. Press PLAY button to START music to play
2. Press PLAY button again to PAUSE the playback
3. Press MODE button to enter playback mode selection
4. Scroll with MODE button through selections
5. Press MODE button when selection REPEAT is in the display
6. Use MODE button to select from: Normal, Repeat One, Repeat
within current Folder (if any), Repeat Folders (if any), Repeat
All songs, Random Play back, and Intro
7. Press MODE button to confirm selection

Error

Can you play at least one music from your mp3 player? If yes, the file that you're trying to play when this message appears may be corrupted. Try having another copy of the music that you want to play on your mp3 player. If you can't play any music that you transferred, possible causes could be :

1. Your mp3 player was reformatted to another file system that is unrecognized by the mp3 player.

2. The flash memory of your mp3 player was bad
3. The songs that you're trying to transfer is not known by the player ( file types other than .mp3)

No Song ..? O.o

Sounds like something nasty got on there. Try setting USB Mode to MSC (mass storage class) and running virus and spyware scans on the device as a disk drive.

Cannot play this sound appears

Hi Asbn!!!

Sounds like u have an musicfile problem.
There r some music files that cant work on Cellphones.
One or too easy ways of fixing this is....try to erase the sound from the Phone and memorystick and install it again. That could work but if not, try to fix a new version av that song and install it.
Last solution is....if none of the Above works....try asking in a
Cellphone shop!!

Good Luck :-)

Protected

Sounds like you have bought protected music that will only play on your computer. There are a couple of companies that do this with the music that you buy from them. goto the music file that you are trying to upload to your MP3 player, right click on it, and choose "properties". at the top, there are 3 tabs, you'll only want to pay attention to "summary" look down in the "origin" category...is it protected? If it is, then this is why your MP3 player isn't playing it. It will only play on your PC.
