Sorry for the inconvenience you have had. The compressor and coils etc are 5 year warranty. This still leaves labor, but I know most shops pick up the labor for one year. I know it is still a headache, but hopefully you have some coverage from your contractor. The unit is a newer style...not the quality of Carrier...but is still a fairly new product. Sounds like you may have to put a bit of pressure on the installer for satisfaction.

I need "the valve" that

You don't need a valve, you need a shrader core. It looks like a tire scrader core but is slightly different size for refrigerations use. A picture of the core is below. If you try to change the cores you will lose your refrigerant and will have to have it vacuumed down and refilled by a service technician. I advise that you call a service technician to have the cores replaced.

weather kings are like that (junk),i install 8 or more a week on new houses, they all do that.yours is a 3.5 ton which is what i set.if the t-stat calles for a/c within 5 mins of it turning off after a cycle, the compressor has a protection built in which keeps the compressor from coming right back on when it just stoped.they say its to keep it from burning up from going on and off alot.

My Weather King model # is 13PJA36AD1... supposed to be new...installed last July...I don't see it on your list though...Is it new?

The last order date for this product was August 2009. It was put on the market in 2005. It was marketed by Rheem/Ruud as a "Cube" heat pump. It is 13 seer efficiency.

Weatherking 3 ton Run Capacitor

Could be; age, lightning, power surge, defective wire, loose wire, tight compressor. Capacitors fail sooner or later. They are like batteries they do not last for ever.

Compressor freezes up at night and some during day.

You are being ripped off. The ambient (outdoor) temperature at night is low and therefore proper condensing does not take place causing the refrigerant to pool in the condenser and starving the evaporator. This causes a lower temperature in the evaporator resulting in "freeze up" which is often mistaken for a loss of refrigerant.
The proper thing to be done is to block off the condenser air causing the high side pressure to rise until the eqivillant of 110*F condensing temperature.
You can also install a low ambient kit which will cycle the compressor off when the temperatures fall

Freez up at the tube going to the fan blower unit

it is either low on freon or the airflow is blocked. check your filter first. then see if the coil is dirty. saying it needs a new coil because it is freezing is an expensive guess unless he did a freon leak test.

The air conditioner is either low on freon: The compressor is malfunctioning due to a wire burned off on the side of side compressor:Or the compressor capacitor has gone bad. Good Luck, Gary
