How do i get the activation code for my tomtom xl

to activate the maps you need to have bought them first

I have a TomTom one xl and nothings free at TomTom. Maps cost $69.

Not knowing how old your unit is I will be shooting in the dark, but here goes. Please tell me you did a backup as instructed when you loaded TomTom Home! If you did, then simply restore your previous maps from there. If you did not do a backup :( then you may have to wait until Tuesday to get in touch with customer service since holiday is upon us. The activation code is or was included in your original packaging that the XL came in. Good luck and always, always, always backup.

To get your activation code you should go to the website and type in your device code which is on the back of the tomtom. Instruction on how to do so should be in the manual

I have managed to load a downloaded map onto two separate Tomtom one XL devices. I did it through tom tom home. I purchased , downloaded and installed the map on my first device. Then connected my second device to my computer. In TOM TOM Home I then changed my device using the Device menu / Change device. it then allowed me to load the map onto a second TOM TOM device.
