Try to reboot the iPod, just in case it has crashed
Hold the top button and the home button
for about ten seconds.
A bug can stop the screen from displaying, sometimes you can
the problem by doing the reboot. If you still see nothing on the
screen, try to plug the iPhone in to the computer and try the reboot
If you are still unsuccessful in
turning on the iPod, but the iPod shows up in iTunes, try restoring from
iTunes to fix any
bugs causing the issue
iPod in to your PC, go into iTunes and click the iPod's icon on the
left side of
In the iPod Summary Screen, click on the restore button and agree
to the prompt
asking if you really want to restore the iPhone's software.
If you are still unsuccessful in
turning on the iPod, but the iPod doesn't show up in iTunes, try putting
the iPod into recovery mode
You can put the iPod into recovery mode if it has
a charged battery.
Start by holding down the home button before connecting it
to iTunes, then continue to hold the button until iTunes recognizes
that the iPod's in recovery mode.
Recovery mode allows you to perform a restore when you're when an
iPod fails to turn on or
display anything on the screen.
if you just got this, then i could possibly be a defective one. if you got this a while go and it worked, then something on the ipod itself may be the cause. go to the place where you got it to get it checked out.
try the reset option
press Enter and Menu at the same time until you see the apple on the screen
if the battery are still low you should try to update the firmware with itunes. if the battery are ok you should be ok but if the problems happen again run a firmware upgrade with itunes
the switch may be gone but you can try this reset procedure first just to see, first turn on the lock and then turn it off again, next push the menu button and the center button down at the SAME TIME and hold them for at least 50 seconds, then see if it's better
first reset depending on your ipod then quickly useing the correct combination force it into disk mode (already having it plugged into the computer sometimes helps) then use itunes restore utility to fix it itunes will say your ipod needs to be restored and that should do it for you
and one other thing sometimes it is hard to get it to stay in disk mode so try putting it into diagnostic mode then pluging in the dock connector then selecting disk mode from the options
