Keurig B66 coffee maker randomly stays on and brews.

Almost from the beginning, this single cup coffee maker would randomly stay on and heat the water till the ready to brew sign appeared in the window. Usually it shuts itself off after a few minutes without heating the water. I've tried re-seating the water reservoir and pushing the power button repeatedly. It will eventually do a full heating cycle after 6 or 7 failures. I'm ready to use my replacement guarantee as this performance is total unacceptable, especially for a practically new unit.

I have called Keurig and gotten replacements for units... however... all keurigs will heat water... then stop... after a while, the water will get cool, and the unit will cycle on.
when you say shuts itself off, the whole unit does Dark?
If the whole unit goes dark, then you may have a bad overtemp sensor... most if not all appliances will have this featurew to shutdown everything if the sensors detect a higher then normal temperature.

If that's happening... call Keurig and tell them this,,, they should honor the warranty and ask you to send them you K-cup holder as proof of ownership... then you will get a replacement.
you now have a unit for parts or to sell on ebay for parts...

I can allways use the parts... :)

My Keurig B66 has a backflo of water into the reservoir every time I make a cup of coffee. I have to hold my finger on the rubber spout to get the correct amount of water to go into the brewing cup.

Hi, not too sure about what your doing to get the correct water, but it sounds like the check valve or one way valve is faulty. Is the water hot or cold that is backflowing. Cold means its coming from the pump. If its hot, its coming from the boiler. Darryn

My keurig says I need to descale. How?

Descaling depends the size of the reservoir. I see the B60 but not the B66 at the Keurig site. The two units are apparently the same from searching the support side of the Keurig site: http://www.keurig.com .

For the Mini coffee makers, you use 20 oz of vinegar (2 10 oz cycles). For the larger Keurig units, it takes 48 oz of vinegar.

In either case, fill the reservoir with vinegar and put a large ceramic (12 oz mug for the mini unit) mug on the drip tray. Do not add a K-cup. For the B60 (and probably the B66), press the Brew button. Discard the vinegar after the cycle. Repeat the brew process until Add Water is indicated. Discard the vinegar each time. Then wait 4 hours with the unit on. Discard the remaining vinegar and rinse the reservoir. Fill the reservoir with 48 oz of water and brew several cups without a K-cup until the "Add water" message appears. Discard the water in the mug each time. Repeat the vinegar cleaning if De-scale still appears in the LCD. Run more water without the K-cup if you notice a remaining taste in the coffee after the rinse procedure.

For the mini, fill the reservoir with 10 oz of water, lift the Brewer handle and lower it after 5 seconds with no K-cup in the unit. Press the Brew button. Discard the vinegar after the cycle. After the first cycle, pour the other 10 oz of vinegar into the Cold Water Reservoir. Lift the handle and lower it after 5 seconds. Press the Brew button and wait until the light becomes steady. When vinegar starts to be dispensed, power off the unit. Wait 30 minutes. Then power on the unit and lift and lower the handle again. Then discard the vinegar after the cycle. Next run 4 rinse brew cycles with 10 oz of water each time. Discard the water each time. The unit should be ready to brew with a K-cup after the 4 rinse cycles.

I hope this helps.

Hi, I have an Ultimate B66 Keurig coffee maker

Your heating unit may be going bad. You could contact Keurig and see what they will do for you. I found them to be very helpful when I had a problem with mine. The replaced the entire unit for me and had me discard my old one.

My Keurig B66 will no longer pump water up to brew, I have had this less than 6 mos, what should I do?

it seems that it does not pump water in, after switching it to ON, it stays running for a few minutes then shuts OFF without even showing "READY TO BREW"..

Keurig elite b40 cup lights don't flash. Both are illuminated solid.

Lift the handle to open the k-cup holder and then close it back up. The coffee mug lights should begin to blink for you.
