Hi johnny4reva, it might be a videocard problem wherein the display is not showing but the laptop is on. Another reason is that the monitor is powered off... I suggest you call the technical support of your brand for further assistance...
Try to press Fn + F2 once you run on the computer. Or you can try to perfrom power drain on your computer. Inorder to do this, turn off the computer then take out the battery and unplug the power adapter then press and hold the power button for 30secs. Put the the battery back in and plug in the power adapter. Turn on the computer then observe.
Let me know if same issue will occur.

It might be your display driver if nothing shows up on your screen. Also it could be your hard drive, but I wouldn't know about that unless your screen came on so it's your display driver. Hope this helps!?
Please rate solution - Thanks
Possible that PC is hanging up as there is fault on the OS (operating system) or a virus in the OS. Also it is possible that the backup battery (CMOS) has low voltage or the memory card is a suspect. In this case you need to check the voltage and also try and swap a memory card. Sometimes the memory card connections can be faulty either on the card or on the slot. Cleaning the slot and card must be done before you try a replacement. If the PC boots and fails then the hard disc can have bad sectors or is corrupt. However if there is no result the motherboard also can be suspected. In this case you might need the help of proper tools and equipment support to do a chip level service.
