Belkin products are all built from Refurbished materials. It is entirely possible that your wireless access point has simply stopped working. Try going in and restarting the wireless function on your router, you'll need to be plugged directly into the router via an Ethernet cable to do this though, if the wireless is not working.

Accidentally changed my router into an access point now i cant access my routers setting page at all.

To reset the Belkin back to the defaultsettings -
Press and hold the pinhole RESET button at the back of the router and thenpower for at least 15 secs. Then release the RESET button.
Connect a LAN cable from Belkin to your laptop/computer's LAN port, open abrowser on your laptop/computer and enter the Belkin's configuration URL. http://192.168.2.1
The default PW = blank (just press Enter)You can now change the default admin password.
You can now configure the wireless settings. Now configure the wireless card in your computer/laptop withthe router's wireless settings. To secure your wireless network from unauthorized access, please click on this link and follow my instructions :-http://www.fixya.com/support/r3559128-wireless_router_security

The wifi isnt working. the wifi light is flashing along with the wired computer lights and internet lights. the power light remains steady

Has this ever been used as a wireless 'extender'? If so, you will need to switch this feature off, so that it will accept connections from clients instead of only from another wireless access point.

Ipod touch will not connect to belkin wireless router.

If your Ipod touch will not 'find' your Belkin N router - or it did and then vanished forever try this- it worked for me.
1.Turn wifi off on your computer, ensure you have the latest firmware on your router, reset the router to factory default.Do this using a wired connection from the admin page.
2. Change the SSID name from what it was previously say from Belkin xyz to my router.
3. Power down the router wait about 30 seconds then power it back up.
4. As you reset to factory setting you will need to put in your internet access info again - do this from the admin page. Also set up your security at the same time.
5. Restart the router from the admin page.
6. Unplug wired connection start wifi and connect to your computer -make sure that you have full internet access from you computer - dont forget you need to connect to the newly renamed router.
7. Take ipod and make sure wifi is off.
8. Clear network settings.
9.Turn wifi on and it should find your newly renaned router - join and enter your pass key.

Why it does it I have no idea neither do Belkin or Apple but it worked for me - a trial and error solution !

Good luck

Connecting to wifi

the passkey is the code that is found in your router security settings, each routers number is different, so look in the router, as you must of initially done this to get your pc to connect wirelessly

WIFI PHONE NOT RECOGNISING BELKIN WIRELSS ROUTER

the router is not configured by default as an access point.
to use the phone the router must be configured as an access point, which is more than disabling security, nat and dhcp must be removed..
page 53 of the user manual describes the proceedure.
online the manual is here

Belkin F5D8233-4 router & I pod touch wifi

What I would try is while the wifi is unsecure go on the computer and open up the browser you are using, on your router the default ip address is 192.168.2.1moz-screenshot.jpg

type the router default ip address in the browser where you would normally type a web address www.google.com

Logging into the Router
You will see the Router’s home page in your browser window. The home page is visible to any user who wants to see it. To make any changes to the Router’s settings, you have to log in. Clicking the
“Login” button or clicking on any one of the links on the home page will take you to the login screen. The Router ships with no password entered. In the login screen, leave the password blank and click the
“Submit” button to log in.
Configuring the Wireless Network Settings
The “Wireless” tab lets you make changes to the wireless network settings. From this tab you can make changes to the wireless network name or Service Set Identifier (SSID), operating channel, encryption security settings, and configure the Router to be used as an access point.
Setting up an Allow Access List
1. Select the “Allow” radio button (1) to begin setting up a list of
computers allowed to connect to the wireless network.
2. Next, in the “MAC Address” field that is blank (3), type in the
MAC address of the wireless computer you want to be able to
access the wireless network, then click “<<Add” (4).
3. Continue to do this until all of the computers you want to add
have been entered.
4. Click “Apply Changes” (5) to finish.

this will allow only the wireless device you select to access your router.

Belkin F5D5231-4 - create a wireless access point

I have had good luck with the NetGear Rangemax WPN824. It has multiple antennas that are supposed to provide better range, and your kids will like the blue blinking lights.
http://www.netgear.com/Products/RoutersandGateways/RangeMaxWirelessRoutersandGateways.aspx

Nintendo has a list of incompatible wireless routers:
http://www.nintendo.com/consumer/systems/wii/en_na/onlineWirelessRouterIncompatible.jsp

and the Rangemax is not incompatible.

Wii can use 802.11B or G.
http://www.nintendo.com/consumer/systems/wii/en_na/onlineWirelessRouterChoose.jsp

Since the Rangemax is both a wireless access point and a router (with 4 ethernet ports), you can just replace your existing router rather than plugging this router into your other one.

Problems with second computer connecting to the internet

First, is your kids computer trying to connect via the WiFi connection? If so, do you have any encryption enabled on the Belkin? (WEP, WAP, etc.) Can the computer 'see' the WiFi Access Point, meaning can it see the SSID (or WiFi name)? Are you using the Built-in XP Zero Wifi Config Utility, or did you install a proprietary utility from Belkin?

Since you have already soft reset the router (power cycle), you may have to do a hard reset using the Reset Button on the back of the router.. you will loose all your configurations, so be ready to setup your WiFi connection again..
