have the same problem with my camcorder. called hitachi and they told me to ship it to Atlanta,Ga and have them take a look and maybe they can see what is wrong. I live in sw florida and there is no one who will look at it to see what the problem is

I had just finished downloading the video to my PC, and never interrupted the power or the download process.

Turned camera off and came back later, and would not power on, either with the battery fully charged, or the AC adapter.

The answer to this question really depends on what 'it' is. Please provide more information - camera make and model, age, when this problem first occurred and the circumstances, whether it has been dropped or subjected to excessive temperature / humidity / liquid immersion etc.

It has been charging for 5 hours like this and doesn't turn on. What do I do? It turned on twice but stayed at 1% for about 10 minutes but then shut off again. I have no idea why it is doing this and

If the cell phone battery is more than 3 - 4 years old then the battery could be worn out. Rechargeable batteries have a finite number of charge and discharge cycles and will lose their charge capacity over time, i.e. won't charge to 100% and gradually the charge reduces until the battery won't charge up at all. OR The battery shows a 100% charge but when the adapter is disconnected the battery drops off to zero capacity in a very short time. If the battery drops to an unacceptable charge level then the battery needs to be replaced. Rechargeable batteries will fail if stored in a discharged state for long periods.

Wont turn on

Charge the battery. If battery will not charge, use different wall adapter. If still won't charge, phone damaged (drop in water by chance?).

You do not mention if you are using a wall plug charger, or a drop-in charger. We will give troubleshooting tips for both. To answer your question: If the light comes on and stays on, on the charger your charger is good. You have a radio or battery problem.

Wall Charger:
The light on the HTN8232 wall charger should come on and stay on when plugged into the radio, with the radio turned off. The fact the light comes on when the radio is turned on indicates your batteries are either no good, too low to charge, or you have a battery contact problem.
Solutions: 1) Clean your battery contacts with a pencil eraser.
2) Be certain the batteries are installed correctly.
3) Check your battery date code (three digit number on back of battery above the stop sign. First number is year, next two numbers are the week of the year. Batteries last about 2 years.)
4) Check to see your new batteries are NiCd batteries. The wall charger method is not compatible with NiMH batteries.
5) Try a charged battery from another radio and see if the charger light comes on and stays on with a different battery.

Drop-In Charger:
If you are using a drop-in charger, you would be using the above listed HTN8232 wall plug charger plugged into the tray. Here are some possible solutions for the drop-in charger:
1) Clean the exterior battery contacts with a pencil eraser.
2) Check to see if the wall charger will work when plugged directly into the radio.
3) If the charge capability of the radio seems compromised, take the battery out of the radio and charge it alone in the drop-in charger.

NOTE: Do not use the PTT if you are turn on the radio when plugged into the charger. This will burn out components in your radio.

The SP10 radio is known to be a repairable radio. (Generally around $69 flat rate.)

Best regards.

325i not starting

Generally that means the battery is to low or the starter draw is too high.
Try a different batter or charging the one you have. Put a volt meter on the battery next time you try it.
It should read 12.5 volts about, with everything off. When you try to start, it should drop to about 10 volts. When you stop trying, it should come back to 12 at least. If it drops below 10, something is wrong. If it does not come back to 12, it is probably the battery. It is drops below 10 and does not come back to 12, it is probably the starter.
Oh, and make sure the engine can turn over by hand, just to ensure it is not locked up.

Camera was dropped and now won't turn on. Battery

Have you charged the battery since the drop? If not plug it in and charge it...

After that if the camera still isn't turning on then I'm sorry to say the camera is most likely busted.

But if you can get your hands on a spare battery as well give that a try.

Good luck!
