Question about Kenwood VR-405 Receiver
You need to unhook all of the speaker wires from the back. they are crossed. i had the same problem with mine. unhook all the wires and turn the unit on. turn the volume all the way down. Make sure your wires arent crossed next time you can damage your reciver.

Hi changeman5 Have you tried to do a full reset on the unit. Disconnect from the wall for 24 hrs. Then try again. If the problem persists, it may have power supply issues, or a DC offset problem shutting it down. If you are game, I could talk you through some more diagnostics...
