Question about Arris WR850G Router (DHWR850G)
New VAIO Laptop. I enter WEP address. It states it is invalid. I reset the WEP address on my Motorola WR850G Router to make sure the WEP address is correct. SO.....
I then try to install the Motorolla software on the new VAIO Laptop that is running VIsta. It goes through the who process unitl it veries IP address. It times out stating: "In order for the installation wizard to communicate with the device, your computer settings must be changed to use Dynamic IP addresses (DHCP). I have gone through the control panel to make sure it was not set on TCPIP and to find an IP address. It still does not work. ANy advice on how to get this darn computer to connect wireless to the internet? I am able to access this website by connecting the Ethernet Cable from the Cable Modem to the WIreless Router and then to my PC.
Please help. I would appreciate any assistance.
MIke from Atlanta.
Try to change your OS! frfom VISTA to XP. because sometimes the problem is in not the router rather the problem is, conflict bet. IPv6 and IPv4.

a 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.
best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repairmen in the US.
the service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of (from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones).
click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.
