Pioneer DVH-P5950MP Issue with the Power antenna {Auto antenna),

I have connected my DVH-P5950MP to my car which has a Power antenna {Auto antenna), which pops-out as soon as the system is switched-on, irrepective of I'm using the Tuner(Receiver) or not.
My understanding is the Power antenna should pop-up only when I switch the receiver(Tuner) and should not raise-up when operating a CD/DVD.
It was working so with my previous audio system, but doesn't with the new Pioneer system.
Is this by design or is it something wrong with the wires connected or is there any configuration setting on the unit....?

Thlink.netI am trying to understand the difference between a fully auto pwr antenna and non-auto. My radio has 1 lead coming out but my antenna has a red & green lead. are they compatible?

The actual aerial normally a single plug with a pointy end on it which plugs into the back of the radio. If the 2 leads red and green are separate wires they sound like the power to release the aerial for semi auto pop up aerial or motor drive if it has motor attached.Depending on your radio the aerial will operate when turned on ,if not then for radio aerial with motor you will have to fit a 2 way switch

Antenna Power supply

First order of business is to check and see if the antenna is operating properly. If the wire in your harness is intended to power the antenna, connect 12 volts to this lead, and the antenna should go up (this needs to be done with the key in the ON or ACCY position). If the antenna does not go up, check the fusebox for a blown fuse. If the antenna does indeed go up, then you can scratch that off the list of possible problems and move on to the next step.

The Clarion should have a power input wire to keep the clock alive, and a power wire (normally of heavier guage) to actually power the radio. Make sure the radio operates when the key is in the ON or ACCY position. If the radio is operating, so far so good.

I'm kind of confused when you say there are two wires on the clarion... "power antenna turn-on" and "auto antenna". Are these both on the clarion? There should be a wire that constantly feeds the antenna with power (I would cal this one auto antenna). It should always be powered to 12 volts. The antenna should operate when the "antenna turn on" lead becomes 12 volts. Normally this ONLY happens when the clarion RADIO is on (ie: if you're listening to a CD, the antenna probably won't get activated).

After checking all this, if you're still having problems and if you haven't already done so, grab a DC volt meter and verify that the clarion power antenna turn on lead goes to 12 volts when you turn on the radio. If it does not, then there is an internal problem within the radio. If this lead IS going to 12 volts when it is supposed to and the antenna still isn't working, then my guess is that the antenna is malfunctioning.

Let me know what you find out... I'll keep looking at stuff from this end. Good luck.

Radio interference

Try switching between am and fm.
Although I hate to laugh, this is a funny siuation, and will report it to the proper people.
See how far away you can walk away from the car before gtting static.
Also try closing the top when its turned on.
Sorry I can giv you somethig to prevent it, I think your out of luck.
