Thanks for the suggestion. The freezer did not have frost and it was still freezing. A service man was contacted, but so far I don't have his results.

If the door is not sealing because of frost build up or product blocking it it won't make the noise. Is it still cooling ok? If you haven't defrosted it you might do this now. Is it in a cold location, i.e. unheated garage up north? This can cause it also. Check the door and the cooling first if it's not right I would call for service. You should have a one year warrany.

Freezer door does not make vac sound

Might need a new seal.
A better test than sound is the put a dollar bill in sealing area and close door. Check how hard it is to pull dollar out (check tightness).
Do this all around the door in various spots.

My freezer has condensation inside

Hi - From what you have described it sounds like the freezer has a poor door seal. When cold air and warm air outside is entering it causes condensation. Try checking and see if the door seal is bad; place a dollar bill between the body of the freezer and close the door. The dollar bill should stay in place and pull out with a small amount of resistance. If the dollar bill falls out when placed between the gasket and cabinet double check to see if the door is being blocked by anything stopping it from closing it. If nothing is stopping the door from closing then I suggest contacting your manufacturer and see who they recommend to repair the unit.

Door was left very slightly open. reclosed but so...

This is normal when compressor starts u can hear some gurgling from evap. from feron flowing. If you hear gurgling only when you close the door it's water in drain pan when you close the door air is forced down drain tube blowing air into water.

Weird (Pressure Release) Noise After The Door Has Been Closed

The freezer being closed up tight and so cold can create a negative pressure inside. This negative pressure will cause the door to be very hard to open and could pull the door closed too quickly. Most manufactures today use small air valves the open and release as the door is being opened and closed. They are most often found on the bottom of the door itself or sometimes in the cabinet behind the back wall.

The noise is perfectly normal, my wife says it is there to alarm her when I am eating too many ice cream bars.....

Ice if forming along top gasket area and side of freezer where

If we have ice on the inside of the freezer it means air is being pulled into the box somewhere. The most likely place is the door seal, it sounds like you already checked it, but I would suggest that you look very close at the bottom and aides of the seal too, it could be leaking in air from there. Check the inside liner for cracks and seal them if you find any. Look at the corners of the cabinet to make sure there is not room for air to come in.

Air leaks will lead to frost, it is just hard sometimes to find where it is leaking in.

Upright Freezer self defrosting

THE (SUCKING AIR) OCCURS WHEN THE TEMP IS VERY LOW IN THE FREEZER AND YOU LET WARM AIR IN BY OPENING THE DOOR. WHEN THE DOOR IS CLOSED, THE WARM AIR IS COOLED CAUSING A VACUUM IN THE FREEZER. IF THE DOOR SEAL HAS A LEAK AROUND IT, THE SUCKING SOUND WILL NOT TAKE PLACE. CHECK THE DOOR SEAL FOR A GAP AT ONE OF THE CORNERS OR ALONG THE SIDES,BACK, BOTTOM, OR TOP.IF THE SEAL IS O.K., HOW IS THE TEMP? IF THE TEMP SEEMS WARM, YOU MAY NEED TO CHECK THE SEALED SYSTEM. LOOK AT THE FROST PATTERN ON THE EVAPORATOR. IS IT COMPLETE AND UNIFORM? IS ONLY PART OF THE EVAPORATOR FROSTED BACK? IF THE ENTIRE EVAPORATOR IS FROSTED BACK UNIFORMLY, THE SEALED SYSTEM IS O.K.

GE Upright Freezer problem/door

The door seal is damaged or the hindge alignment have allowed the warm air to enter and the cold air to leak out the of the freezer. Look and feel around the door for the cold air and check the top and bottom hinges to make sure they haven't become loose. Look for tears also around the seal because this will do the same thing. Let me know what you find. JT
