How do i connect my midi keyboard (yamaha PSS-51) to my personal computer and play from keyboard through to the pc? Do i need an installation cd? Please help me. Thanks

Maybe read the manual...

Register and download the manual for free at retrevo.com

http://www.retrevo.com/support/Yamaha-PSS-51-Music-Keyboards-manual/id/961ci070/t/2/

If your PC supports MIDI, its hardware/software would have some guidance and settings. If you just want raw audio to play through the PC as analog sound just jack the keyoboard into whatever sound input you ahve that supports an analog input. See page 5.

For just listening, any audio device with a headphone/earbud/RCA output can be connected to any available analog Line Level input (except PHONO) with a simple adapter.

Can I change a plain keyboard into a MIDI-enabled one?

Normally, no. They do make MIDI controller keyboards that don't make a sound, but will input note info into your computer's software program....just a thought. Personally, I've got an old Yamaha DX-7 Series 1 that I use to input and listen back with.

I have a Casio Privia PX 110 key board and the foot pedal jack does not work. I have tested the foot peal at the music store and it works. How do i fix it?

please bring a lubricant contact cleaner from radio shack near you and apply the spray in foot pedal socket(the place which you put your jack)and then put your jack in and out many times.if this can not solve your problem you have to pass your keyboard to service center.

Yamaha kx88 keyboard midi controller problem.

Hi there, check over all your MIDI leads also. MIDI is a current operated system and is very prone to misfiring if all connectivity is not A1.

I have a triton LE Korg workstation. I have the MIDI interface cables from Yamaha. I would like to record straight to my computer using these cables. Is this possible?

Hi

Yes it is possible if you have a MIDI breakout lead. This lead plugs into the game port on the back of your sound card(if you have one) If you do not have a game port, then you will need a midi interface that can be plugged into your PC via USB port. USB Midi interfaces can be bought from most music shops.

What does the lead that you have look like? If it has a 180 deg 5 pin DIN plug at each end then you have a standard midi connection cable. Useful only for plugging into the MIDI interface I just mentioned. If you have any questions about this,I am happy to help you out. A "FixYa" rating would be great for my advice and future efforts to help you resolve this:)

regard
Graeme
