You may have blown a fuse, check the radio fuse or cigarette lighter fuse under the dash and see if there are any bad ones, you should have a diagram of what fuse is which on the fuse box cover. check the cigarette lighter and see if its out too, they might not share the same fuse but a lot of times they do. you might have to take each one out one at a time to see if they are bad, if one is bad there will be a little break in the metal in the middle on the fuse. hope this helps!

    you may be able to take it into a ford dealer and get the unlock code, my father inlaw had the same problem and thats what he did. honda didnt charge him so you might give that a shot. i really dont know why they started putting those codes on the stereos, its not going to stop a thief from taking the radio, it will just keep him from using it. lol. yea try taking it into a dealer and see what they tell you, they should have the codes and shouldnt charge you to get them since you have the whole car and not just the stereo. good luck and let me know what they say

I have to 1999 cougar 4 cylinder 5 speed with all fuses out of the fuse box the car still has power in the dash however the car will not start with key in ignition but will start manually under the ho

If you have a multimeter (don't spend > $20 US) you need to check whether the ignition switch is sending voltage to the starter relay or starter.
Also, if you have an automatic tranny, there may be a switch to prevent starting in gear that has failed.
If a manual, it may have a safety switch related to the clutch position.

I cant figure out how to listen to the radio while i play video games through hdmi cables

In order for you to be able to have a different audio source from your video, i.e.; have "radio sound" instead of "video game sound", you have to connect your HDMI cables from the game console directly to the TV/Monitor.

The reason for this is that video and audio are carried simultaneously over a single connection on HDMI. If you make your HDMI connections through a receiver to a monitor, whenever you change your input to the radio you also lose your video game picture.

So to summarize;

Power off your receiver and game console.

Disconnect your game console HDMI cable from the receiver.

Reconnect the HDMI cable to the TV.

Turn on the TV, then the receiver, then your game console. Then change your receiver input to the radio.

My car radio asks for the code every time i use it. once the engine is running i can turn the radio on/off without putting in the code. Once the engine has been turned off i need to re-enter the code Can...

Check your car battery (either at a service station or by checking it's voltage if you have a voltmeter). The radio's anti-theft is triggering. This triggers when the battery has been disconnected; but if the voltage goes down (likely when you start your car), the radio may trigger the power disconnected alarm.

Accurian AVR 31-5048 6.1

I power on the reciever and then it reads PROTECTION and then powers off. I initially thought that I blew out the reciever but I was wondering if it was as simple as a fuse. I can locate the product manual for this reciever.

I just bought a Porsche Boxer but I can't turn the radio on because I don't have the code!!!

You just need to recover the radio's serial number to decode the 4 digit radio key. The full process and decoder is available here: Porsche Boxster: Online Lost Radio Code Recovery Tool

How can I reprogram Nissan pulsar car radio a battery change which has deleted memory? panel shows error message only ERR.

You will need to turn the ignition on (do not start the car) turn on the radio and leave it on for anywhere between 1 - 3hrs untill it prompts you for a code.

There is a internal timer which adds time depending on how many times the code is entered wrongly.

Do not start the car, or turn off the ignition or radio during the 1 - 3 hr period.

Hope this helps.

Thank you

2000 honda civic radio is locked out. need code to release the radio/cd player to turn on.

You have to get the correct radio code from the CAR manufacturer / dealer by telling them the full model no. and serial no. of the radio.
Good luck.

If I understand your post right, you have the code but need the procedure on how to input/enter it into the radio. To my understanding, a 1995 Volkswagen Passat would have a non-BOSE unit with or without CD changer controls. It was a premium sound system with anti-theft coding.

Pls try:
1. Power the radio ON till "SAFE" is displayed;
2. Press the AM/FM and SCAN buttons simultaneously till display shows "1000". (In some versions, it is the seek and the two scan buttons);
3. Release the AM/FM and SCAN buttons;
4. Enter your security code using the first four station buttons on the radio;
5. The first button changes the first number of the four digit code;
6. The second button changes the second number and so on and so forth;
7. Once the proper code has been entered press the AM/FM and SCAN buttons at the same time and hold until the radio accepts the code;
8. You have two tries before the system will lock you out for an hour;
9. Should you happen to have a three digit code, pls make the first digit a zero;
10. The first digit can only be 1 or 0 (the 0 will not show up so for a zero, push the button until the 1 disappears).

Hope this be of initial help/idea. Pls post back how things turned up or should you need additional information.

Good luck and kind regards.

Thank you for using FixYa.
