Does it have a reset button on the back. look carfully.

Could be corrupt firmware.
Install and run Philips Device Manager from the product CD.
Select the Repair / Restore option.
Press and hold [VOL+] on the player whilst connecting to the PC, and follow the on-screen prompts.
