Cant find a teflon repair spray product

I am looking for a spray coating that can repair a non-stick pan or pot that is rusting because the coating has been scratched. What products are available for home use?

Teflon, if nmot applied properly to cooking utensils can be toxic, thus there are no home remedies for your problem.

Failing teflon coating

sorry but the news is not good
Teflon is a poison and when it starts breaking down , the best idea is to turn them into pot plants or junk
Some years ago there was a report on Teflon coated cooking ware and the dangers that the product presented as it breaks down
there is no life time guarantee as advertised

Is it possible to restore the teflon surface of teflon coated pans on which the surface has become scratched (in this case Jamie Oliver Tefal Frying pans)

No. There is no effective repair procedure for the pan once the teflon coating has become scratched down to the bare metal or begins peeling off.

You can continue to use the pan safely, but the non-stick surface will not be as effective as an undamaged coating would be.

Never use metal forks / spatulas / utensils on a teflon coated pan.

Instead try using thermal rated plastic, teflon, or wooden spatulas which will not scratch the pan coatings.

Good luck.

I have the porcelain coated pans and the kids burnt chilled cheese and just can't seem to get it clean now

You can use spray-on oven cleaner, such as "Easy Off" or any similar store brand. Do not use oven cleaner on Aluminum pans, pans with non-stick coatings, or pots/pans with plastic or rubber handles. Wear rubber gloves when working with oven cleaner. It is a very powerful cleaner and can burn your skin.
  1. Put the pan in your empty kitchen sink.
  2. Spray it on generously with oven cleaner.
  3. Leave it overnight, 8 hours or so.
  4. In the morning thoroughly rinse and wipe all the areas you sprayed, including the sink.
You should have a clean pan and a clean sink. Refer to the oven cleaner's label for further instructions and safety hazards. Choose the type of oven cleaner that suits your needs. In my experience, "Fume Free" oven cleaners take longer and don't work as well. Seemingly, the more noxiously fumed cleaners, ie ones containing Lye (Sodium Hydroxide), work better and faster.
This works for porcelain coated pots/pans, stainless steel, steel, glass, etc. Do not use oven cleaner on aluminum pans, pans with non-stick coatings, or pots/pans with plastic or rubberized handles.

you may be using too much heat. if you can cook with less heat and slower- this usually helps. If it was cheaper non-stick cookware you still may need to use a small amoutn of oil.
if you have burned the pan or used excessive heat i would recommend replacing it.

Cant find a teflon repair spray product

No product of this kind available. Pans are made to be used with plastic utensils so you don't scratch coating off, once you scratch coating of the pans they need to be replaced. I would not use them anymore, every time coating scratches off you are eating it. Who knows how bad this could before you, no one tells us this.

I would NOT reconsider replacing the pan with one coated with Teflon™ - - what do you think happened to the coating that disappeared? I would avoid getting more of it into my food if possible - see the following links.

http://tuberose.com/Teflon.html

I recommend using non-stick sprays or other shortening/oil treatments to act as a "release agent". Perhaps a little more work, but far less potential for ingesting PTFE (the chemical that is Teflon™) which is having it's safety questioned.

If I can be of further assistance, or if you have questions about any of my response(s), please let me know before rating me.

The teflon coating in the cooking pan is coming off

Hello,
Well if you just purchase it. I would try returning it , and explaining your defect to the customer service agent. Or contact the company who makes the product.
