    Correct...a traditional audio CD

  • rltaylor5498 Apr 01, 2008

I suspect the CD was inserted improperly and has locked up the player. If so, is there a way for me to open the player and relieve the problem?

    Any help will be appreciated.

Hi,

Did you try disconnecting the unit from the power for a few minutes? If so, what happens when you reconnect?

This was a traditional audio cd, that would run in any normal cd player, correct? not a CD with mp3's saved on it or something?

Cyberhome CH-DVD 300 DVD doesn't work, Help! please.

It sounds like a common problem with these units, which is easily fixed...

Open the unit and look at the capacitors on the power supply circuit board, there are probably some bulging or leaking caps on it, just replace them and you should be good to go. You should replace them with a little higher voltage but keep the same micro-farad value. ie: use a 16volt in place of a 12volt.

Wont load any DVD'S

It is possible that the power supply is not providing a solid 5 volts.
Many of these units had problems where the 5v is too low (4.9).
In most cases capacitors can be replaced to correct a low voltage situation. Be sure to use 16v capacitors in place of any 10v.

DVD Player stops in "Loading..." mode

1. Check that disc is encoded for your geographical region. A disc from Europe (Region 2) will not play in a North American (Region 1) player. 2. Turn off player with disc inserted, unplug temporarily from wall outlet, plug back in and turn back on. 3. If your player has a transportation lock (usually a plastic screw on the bottom of the unit), make sure that it is not engaged. 4. If you have an older player, check with the manufacturer to see whether an update to the firmware is available. Many newer DVD titles with lots of special features are famous for causing problems on older players. if nothing helps, call for service.
