SOURCE: cutting of thermistor wire by rat

If you have enough loose end on the wire you can make a splice and solder the point. Insulated it well with electrical tape. The alternate is to replace the thermistor which and more than likely be ordered by model number and serial number of your unit.

SOURCE: Airforce 12000BTU Air Conditioner wiring problem

The outdoor unit should have 2 small wires connected to the contactor coil. This delivers the 24v "Signal" to energize the coil. The wire from the t'stat for cooling are usually yellow, in almost every case. When you put the t'stat in the cooling mode and set the temp lower than the room temp, the indoor and outdoor unit should come on. Check for voltage on the terminal block for 24 volts accross the yellow and common wire. Common could be ground on some handlers. If you have the 24 volts, then check for 24v on the 2 small wires (usually 18 to 22 gage wire) on the contactor coil. If no voltage, trace the 2 wires back to the indoor unit and see where they go. If they are the ones that are not attached, put one on the yellow wire terminal and the other on the common terminal. This will send power to the indoor unit and then piggyback to the outdoor unit. Do not remove the yellow and common from the terminal block. Don't be too concerned about the colors from the outdoor coil wires. Just make sure they are hooked up right. Good Luck and hope this gets it going.

SOURCE: I HAD TO REPLACE THE CAPACITOR ON MT INTERTHERM A/C UNIT

Most common color codes are Yellow or Red from the H(herm) terminal of the capacitor to the compressor, Brown (sometimes with a white stripe) from the F(fan) terminal to the outside fan motor. Then Orange is usually a hot lead from the contactor to the C(common) capacitor terminal. Looking at the other outside fan wires you often see purple picking up power from the same C(common) capacitor terminal and a black wire going to the contactor output opposite of the orange wire... but of course that's the same as purple and black being on the two contactor outputs. Lots of contactors nowadays switch only one side, so be aware your fan is hot when not running and can short through a bad capacitor to ground and burn up the fan wires. Switching to a double pole contactor is easy to do but will disconnect the compressor warming element -- needed in cold climate areas. You'll know if you have this because there's 5 wires going to the compressor instead of 3 and the two smaller size black wires go to the contactor switched side so that they are OFF when the contactor is closed... and pull current to the heater through the motor circuit via the bridged side of the contactor when the system is not running. So if you want a system that's really off when the contactor is open you need to decide if the warmer is required and how to connect it via an additional relay that will be normally closed (NC). These can be purchased as add-on or bolt-on switches to fit on some contactors or buy a contactor with a normally closed switch -- in addition to the 2-pole switch for main functions.

SOURCE: REPPLACING FAN AND COMPRESSOR CAPACITORS WITH A SINGLE UNIT

Well, it sounds as if you have a Coleman rooftop unit. If you have a start capacitor with a PTCR (Postive Temperature Coefficient Resistor) then it is different than if you have a Potential Motor Starting Relay. Why are you replacing the run and the fan capacitor?

Here is a link to the documentation that you need. If you do not have a Coleman and it is in fact a Duo-Therm, let me know the model number and I will be able to pull up the wiring schematic.

Thanks,

Jeff

Is it possible to add a sumo amp to a Denon AVR

Yes, it is possible to add a Sumo amplifier to a Denon AVR (Audio/Video Receiver) system. The Denon AVR is designed to be the central hub for audio and video processing, providing amplification and routing signals to speakers and other audio devices.
To add a Sumo amplifier to your Denon AVR system, you can follow these general steps:
1. Determine the audio output options on your Denon AVR: Check if your Denon AVR has preamp outputs, which are typically labeled as "Pre Out" or "Main Out." These outputs are used to connect external amplifiers like the Sumo amp.
2. Identify the input options on the Sumo amplifier: Check the inputs available on the Sumo amplifier. It should have an input that matches the output from your Denon AVR. The most common connection is RCA, but there could be other options like XLR or optical.
3. Connect the Denon AVR to the Sumo amplifier: Use appropriate cables to connect the preamp outputs of your Denon AVR to the inputs of the Sumo amplifier. For RCA connections, you will need RCA cables with male connectors on both ends. Make sure to match the left and right channels correctly.
4. Configure the Denon AVR: Once the connections are made, you may need to configure the Denon AVR to use the external amplifier. Check your Denon AVR's manual or menu settings to disable the internal amplifier for the connected speakers. This will ensure that the AVR sends the audio signal to the Sumo amp instead.
5. Set up the Sumo amplifier: Follow the instructions provided with the Sumo amplifier to set it up correctly. This may involve adjusting gain levels, selecting input sources, and configuring any other settings specific to the Sumo amp.
6. Test and enjoy: Once everything is connected and configured, test the system by playing audio through your Denon AVR. The audio signal should be amplified by the Sumo amplifier and sent to your speakers, providing enhanced power and performance.
It's worth noting that the specific steps and options may vary depending on the models of your Denon AVR and Sumo amplifier. It's always recommended to consult the user manuals for both devices and, if needed, seek assistance from an audio professional or the manufacturers' support teams for detailed guidance tailored to your specific equipment.

Hello, I have a little giant #508158, pump is approx. 2 years old used about 4 times to drain a residential pool that is in-op @ the moment, however the pump has stopped working, the GFCI does "not" trip,...

To be precautious, if the damage to the wire is near to the appliance you might be lucky enough to savage it as it is hard to come by. Cut the wire 2 -3 inches away from the damage and hang to drain dry for 2 days or so if there is any sign of water ingress. leave the damaged wire in situ until you are ready to remake a connection with the salvaged piece, salvage any water tight shroud on the wire into the pump or replace it with new.

When you open the electric box on the pump it would pay you to test the pump motor with a mega, to see if the motor is down if it is need I say any more.

When you have finished the repair or what ever, it might be an idea to store the pump , either repaired or replaced inside a metal box and put some rat poison baited traps around, also leave a couple of Asprins out for the rat in case it get guts ache.

You'll probably need to buy a shop manual from Ebay. They are available on a CD now.
You can also register with autozone on their website for free and get some basic repair info including some wiring diagrams.

HOMS Evaporative Air Cooler HW:777 Slow / Not Rotating Motor, What Could Be The Problem?

capacitor for run motor has gone most likely. on the motor you will find a black box with ether 2 black wires or one black and other white with something like cbb61 ac450. that has probably gone. they in most 2 phase motors and 3 phase motors like ceiling fans. dont cost a lot to replace just make sure it is the right uf rating can be 1 uf up but not down. so say yours is 1uf and you fing a 2uf it would be fine but a 4uf will make the motor slower.

Year old Symphony Winter evaporative cooler won't turn on, not even just the fan. Borrowed from friend, had to put on side to get in car.

Sounds like it's not getting power. Open it and check for an inline fuse or a reset button.Check the power cord for continuity first though, and make sure you're using a proven power outlet. It could be drawing too many amps, and tripping the circuit protection on that particular outlet.

No idea to be honest but you must be able to find the colour of the wires at the ends and then re-connect them i would have thought unless its all the same colour wires ,or look at the council scrap yards and see if you see a similar machine and take the wireing out of it but take plenty of pics on the phone so you know where they all go ?.

Put new starter on and battery lights won't come on nor will the car turn over. some rats build a nest in the engine compartment, so i do know how to get the car to start. help me please.

Hi,
Have you put a new battery in the car? If so and it still won't start, try retracing the wires under the hood to be sure the rats haven't chewed through any of them!
