Question about Dell Inspiron 1150 Latitude D600 14.1 LCD Display-LP141X14 CD-ROM Drive
Hook up a CRT to the vga connection on the back of the laptop. Reboot, and press the Fn+F8 key and see if you can view your desktop on the crt. I am dealing with the same issue, but i noticed that i can make out just barely on the LCD my image of the desktop. In researching, it appears that either the inverter is bad or the backlight. Both appear to be very inexpensive to replace but requires some soldering experience. If you wish to give it a try, just look up www.lcdparts.net.
Also goto www.discountparts.com and see if they have a replacement/used LCD screen. That SHOULD be easier to replace.
