Question about Samsung PCL545R 54" Rear Projection Television
I have a SAMSUNG PCL5415RX-XAA since 2002, it has been a great TV but now is showing some flaws.
First the image was all green and then it went blackout, several trials later to turn it on again I can heard the relay clicking, but the TV powered off right away, then I thought that something shorted.
After reading some of the threads on this site, looks like it could be that any of the boards are indeed shorted; so I opened the TV set looking for signs of fluid leaking, but I didn't find any, then I just blew the dust off and tried again.
Now the TV turns on and stays on, and it has audio, but the screen still dark, it has no images.
I'm troubleshooting following the flow charts on the service manual page 5-3, titled "No Raster (Sound OK)", I pretty much understand all of the steps except for the first one, "Check Heater"; on the wiring diagrams I have seen the a couple of lines marked as "Heater", but it is just a line, it doesn't relates to any electronic component.
What is the "Heater"? Is this "Heater" the same as the heat sink?
If so, what should I check on the heater (heat sink)?
Any recommendations to help find the delinquent components?
Any help will be greatly appreciated.
