Question about Fuji FinePix Z5fd Digital Camera
My camera works fine when the charger is plugged but the battery won't charge. I bought a new battery assuming that was the problem and it will not charge either. Also, the charging light does not go on on ther camera when the charger is plugged in. Any ideas?
My Finepix Z5 works fine when the charger is plugged into the camera but the battery never charges. After reading the post with the same problem, I'm not sure if I want to buy a new battery and get the same results. The charging light also does not go on when camera is pluged in and is charging, help
I looked up this question with the same problem and while the battery was placed in with the right side in, the three metal tabs weren't on the right side with the three metal chargers- so I had to spin it around the other way...i hope i'm explaining this right...now it's charging! I am so glad. This camera is excellent.

Littlelily is right, I had the exact same problem; my camera wouldn't turn on when unplugged from the wall, and wasn't charging, and I thought that it was broken.
It turned out, as littlelily stated, that I actually had the battery in the wrong way around (embarrassing for a technician really :| ) ; you have to flip the battery so the left is now the right side and vice versa. NOT top to bottom, just a flip on it's Y axis (if it were standing with the shortest face as a base).

My sister's Z5 was having the same problem. I realized she had the battery in upside down. There are no guides on the battery to insure that it goes in the right way.
If the battery is in correctly, and it is still not charging, I would call Fuji to get it repaired.

The battery isn't in upside down. It works while plugged in, will turn on and take pictures but once I unplug the charger from the wall the camera won't even turn on.
I'm going to most likely send it in to Fuji but was hoping that Best Buy could do something since this is where I purchased it from...
