Harmon kardon is the whole name that you are looking for. They are very popular for computer speakers as well as home audio speakers. Google their name and you can find the manufacturers website which you can then look up most manuals otherwise contact the manufacturer directly if your model is older to get a printed copy of the model you own. After a few years they tend to drop the models off of their websites in order to make room for new models...

click start control panel hardware and sound manage audio devices playback you should see your speakers right click select enable or you might have to configure them this option will be at the bottom of of the playback list also right click on the speaker select properties
you should see a few tabs general levels enhancement and advanced you might find you need to select a different option possibly stereo or dvd or studio quality windows7
Hello frostyscoppe & micoh luv. I'm sorry to say that (like mine) they may have just 'packed in'! I had the same problem and contacted Harmon Kardon directly, They said there was a circuitry problem that couldn't be repaired and suggested I get the latest HK IIs. So I did and found these to be much more versatile and worth upgrading to. I thought my 'old' HDs were fine but sadly things aren't made to last like they used to be!!! If someone else is able to 'rescue' your originals I'd be very interested to hear their suggestions.
