The C770 Ultra Zoom has the ability to use cards larger than 512MB and Type M cards but only for still photos. I tried to use a 1GB card and Type M cards with the same problem "Picture Error". Large videos (over 30 seconds or so) or videos utilizing zoom inevitably caused extremely long time to write the file to the card or failed in the process. The camera is only rated for up to 512MB card from the factory. leicks@cox.net if you have other questions...hope this helps

IS OLYMPUS VG110 CAPABLE OF RECORDING SOUND

Yes. However, the camera cannot playback the sound when playing the video, and the optical zoom is disabled while recording sound.

For full details, see the "Recording sound when shooting movies" section on page 36 of the manual.

I can't record more then 20 sec video file

I'm sorry to inform you but after researching your camera only records for 20 seconds. It has nothing to do with your card. Only 20 second blocks of time.

Movie mode - The total amount of recording time available is shown by the green "00:20" in the lower right hand corner. This is SHQ 640x480 resolution at 30fps, the maximum recording time is 20 seconds. In the lower quality 640x480 @ 15fps or 320x240 size, the recording time is limited only by space on your xD card. The shaking hand icon indicates that we have the image stabilizer turned on.

Camera stops recording video

When recording movies in the SHQ image quality mode, I am restricted to 15 seconds of recording time per movie. Why?
In SHQ mode, the FE-230 records movies with VGA resolution (640 x 480 pixels) and a frame rate of 30 frames per second. Recording this much data, this quickly, requires a large amount of camera memory and a very quick write time.
Olympus’ Type M+ and Type H xD-Picture Card media are high-speed cards and are able to process this volume of information with no loss in quality. Other commercially available media, including Type M and Standard type xD-Picture Card media, are not able to do so. For this reason, this model limits movie recording in SHQ mode to 15 seconds when using media other than Type M+ or Type H cards. The 15-second restriction guarantees that the camera will be able to process the data properly and produce a smooth, error-free movie during playback.
Keep in mind that there is no restriction on movie recording length, other than the capacity of the storage media, when recording in the HQ (320 x 240 pixels) mode.

I'm not sure if you are recording in SHQ or not. Try switching to HQ (press menu, then select image quality). It solved the problem for me. Btw I got the solution of the Olympus FAQ page on their website.

Video

This is likely to be the particular memory card you are using.

some GENUINE olympus memory cards will only record short snipets of video in MPEG4 mode.

I believe a memory card with model like M-512Mb has this fault.

Check the Olympus website.
