Question about Audio Players & Recorders
I have a Sony CDP-397 CD Player - it's older, but plays great, and is a work horse. Recently however, whenever I press the eject button to open the CD carrier, it opens fine but then shuts almost immediately; I can press the button again, and it'll do the same thing, continually - press the button, opens and shuts, and so on.
What could be the problem, and is this a common and simple fix?
The CD tray is driven by a belt below the tray or on the right hand side (I can't remember the exact model). The belt is probably slipping. Replace the belt and you should be fine. I think you should be able to replace the belt without removing the tray.
I'll look up the model tonight and update this if there are significant differences from what I already stated.
