Depending on what you have on hand I could tell you how to check if it works or not. If you have a power supply that has significant amperage output. Probably greater than 10 Amps then I would use that because of the ability to current limit so if there is something wrong you wont hurt anything too bad. Otherwise, use a car battery and hook them into Ground and Battery connections also, hook the Remote and Battery together so that the amp will turn on. Then get an audio source to plug into the RCA input jacks. Then use a speaker to test each output. I hope it helps.

12 volts to amp, when connected no volts, it turns on in my friends car.

The ampliflier require an amount to power volts to perfrom. You friends car may have a power stabilier installed to produce appropiaet supply to stereo systesm. usually, a direct wire from the engine to the amplifer may least function as manufacturers default specifcation. If the amplifer performs at all, a fuse is blown to protect the devices in wiring cuircuits. if the device functioned in another car, it is not damaged. Consult with an auto electrician to attain appropiate wirign or acqurire the component parts to wire the vehicle. Important notes. Each device usually will have an instruction on installing. However, the power source from engine depending on type of vehicle may require regulators to share the current to stereos amplifiers and speakers.

Clarion stereo in1997 mercury marquis wiring hook up to amplifer

make sure the speaker wires in the car do not have one side grounded.the output on the clarion is a floating output and cannot be grounded.the best solution is to look at the wiring on each of the speakers, and match them out to the ones on the clarion.the most common colr code is white front left, gray front right green rear left and purple rear right.each speaker has a plus and minus.mixing them up will result in the speakers being out of phase and result in poor bass performance.i would wire the wires directly to the clarion using crimp connectors.the first thing i would do is power up the stereo out of the car to 12 volts, and using a speaker make sure you have sound coming out.the yellow wire which is the clock/memory is a must to be connected to constant 12 volts or no sound can result

Sound problem

sounds like you have the antenna wire connected to the power amplifer lead in the car.

Go behind the radio, there is a solid blue wire that will be connected to a wire in the car, take the solid blue wire off, and connect the blue/white from the radio to where the solid blue was originally connected. This should solve your problem
