I bought a S5000 just for parts that I am happy to part and share. Who knows where the CCD module board thing is so I can swap mine out?

I have just replaced the sensor, which I took from a S5000 with a different fault.
Please read my write up.
It is easy and works perfectly.
The problem is, finding a sensor

    Hello all S5000 users,

I did a write up when I changed my CCD-chip on s5000.net. Unfortunately they do not exist anymore.
For someone like me, who repairs laptops and cameras as a paid hobby it is pretty easy.

    However, there is one problem.
Fuji will not sell spareparts to us. The failed CCD's were a certain batch made by SONY !
They affected certain serial numbers, and Fuji were repairing them for free.
That grace period is over, and here we are.
Even if you could get a CCD from Fuji (you must prove to them that you are a qualified electrical technition); the costs involved are not worth it. (It has to do with the Capacitor discharge)
Your only chance would be, to pick up a otherwise faulty S5000 with a working CCD.
Because you then have to change the lens/ccd assembly only. The CCD does sit inside that assembly.
To dismantle the camera is simple, because of it's modular design. Take photos during this process and mark the connections with a felt pen. Mind the capacitor!!!!!!!!!! , it could cause serious injury and could be fatal !!
There are two modular PCB bords to be removed, and then you see the Lens/CCD assy.
You could now also remove the small retainer battery and replace it with a normal 2032 (3V) battery, insulated and corded . Just solder it into place and fix it to the pcb with epoxy.
I am at the moment just doing that to 2 S5000 cameras.
If you need further help or photos from the repair, then leave your email address here in this forum.
As I said; this is one of my many hobbies and I am here to help you out there.
Of course one would need some basic tools;although I do use very sophisticated rework stations,
    oscilloscopes and Microscopes amongst others.
Once you have disassembled a s5000 you will find that it is challenging, but very simple indeed.

Lines on your pictures are due to the shutter not closing completely. The video should work fine indicating there is no problem with the sensor. Shutter needs cleaning, inspecting for obstruction

Possibly search ebay for broken cameras of the same make or replacement parts. Fuji's contact center may sell parts or possibly fix your camera for free.

Your CCD sensor has failed. Common digital problem that uses Sony sourced CCD chips. Proffesional factory replacement of CCD is only fix or buy another physicaly damaged unit and swap CCD boards. Not hard but intricate and time consuming.

Most likely no. You are probably going to have to send it in for repair or return it to the store.

CCD sensor is faulty and should be replaced by Fuji agent free of charge because properly manufactured CCD sensor should last 15 years at least. Otherwise pay for labor to have new CCD block put in ( 1 hour ) and insist on the agent covering the cost of the part.
