I am installing an HPLJ1100 on a computer that is operating Windows XP. When I loaded the software disk it says that it is not compatible with Windows XP and that I should contact HP for a device driver that is compatible with Windows XP. Can you help?

Step 2: Run the Setup disk program to create the Setup disks

When you download the Setup disks, the download contains only one large program file. When you run the downloaded file, it extracts the files. You receive the following message:

This program creates the Setup boot disks for Windows XP. To create these disks, you need to provide 6 blank, formatted, high-density disks.

Please specify the floppy drive to copy the images to:

Type the drive letter for the floppy disk drive (this is typically drive A). After you type the floppy disk drive letter, you receive the following message:

Insert one of these disks into drive drive letter:. This disk will become the Windows XP Setup Boot Disk.

Press any key when you are ready.

When you press a key, the downloaded file starts to extract and copy the files. Continue to insert the blank disks as you are prompted to do this until all six disks are created. If the process is interrupted, you must run the downloaded program file again to create all six disks.

Make sure that you label each disk appropriately with the number that is specified by the program. You must use the disks in the correct order during the Setup process.

Step 3: Start your computer by using the first Setup disk to begin a new Windows XP installation

After you create all six disks, insert the first disk in the floppy disk drive, and then restart the computer. The computer must be configured to start from the floppy disk drive. You may have to modify the BIOS settings on your computer to do this.

The Setup process starts. Insert the other floppy disks when you are prompted. You must use the Windows XP CD-ROM to finish the Setup process.

hope it helps

I installed WIN7-64 on my Visionman VBBI-1PCC00 and there is no sound. I need a driver and I cannot locate the disk. Where can I download it please? I tried VIA 21I and it complained that it cannot find...

Having looked at the spec of your machine, it is entirely possible that no driver exists for windows 7 for that particular hardware. The best way to find out if your system is Windows 7 compatible is to load the compatibility checker available on the Microsoft website. All Windows 7 drivers are digitally signed and the OS will find them from the web automatically.

I wouldn't bother with windows 98, its more bother than its worth! XP has been given an extention to 2013 so you should be able to obtain a copy at a microsoft certifed retailer, when you update windows the drivers should be installed automaticly

The drivers on the HP CD are probably not compatible with Vista.

I would suggest visiting the Hewlett-Packard website, navigating to their Support section, and downloading the new drivers for Vista.

Hi,
try uninstalling any software relating to the printer.
shutdown the computer. Remove any printer to computer cables. Re-boot ( startup ) the computer.
let it set itself up. then shutdown.
turn off the power to computer, put your printer cable back in, as if you were installing it for the first time.
the computer should have found new hardware ( your printer ) And ask for a driver. ensure your HP disk is in the drive, and ask to search Drive D:- Or E:- wherever your CD is located.
If it,s already got the latest drivers installed, i would,nt worry unless your printers not functioning correctly.

HP Printer Conflict

Perform a clean and "No bloated" installation of the hardware.
Uninstall ALL the HP printer software, disconnect the PSC and reboot the computer.
When windows finish to load, connect the PSC again, the new hardware wizard will show up, follow the instructions with the HP Installation disk in the drive.
IMPORTANT: When a silver sand glass show up in the screen, CANCEL the installation of the HP software (this is by clicking "CANCEL" button or by no accepting the license terms). This will install only the PSC Drivers and nothing else.
Try printing again.

you need to put the sata drivers onto a floppy disk and when it asks during the xp setup do you want to install any 3rd party drivers say yes and load the drivers from the floppy. The sata drivers with the floppy generator should be on the drivers cd you recieved.
