Damn, you gotta hate that. First thing, do you
have any recourse with the outfit you just bought the amp from
? I guess not if you are asking in here. There is not a whole lot that stops the reverb
in these amps. First things to check would be that the connections to the rev-eb
tank are ok, and the cables to them not damages, and the terminations to the RCA plugs are good. Check that the reverb tank
is connected thew right way round also. If everything so far checks out, and yourself, or an electronics savvy mate then time to download the circuit from here
Then from there, pull the chassis out of the box, and check/look for dry/cracked solder joints about the reverb
Pot, I would check the voltages about U2, TL072, and even just change it out if you are unsure. The reverb
tank could also be down, hard to check this easily without swapping it out, if you have(maybe time for the repair shop here) a CRO
, then you can sniff off the audio going in and out of the tank to be sure that is it functioning.
Anyway, that is a rundown on what may be wrong with the HRD
. If you have any questions, more that happy to answer them and continue to help you out. a FixYa rating is a great reward for my time to talk this through with you. Cheers!
