The problem I am having is that once I am editing an FX and I am exiting, the pinnacle freezes but I dont change anything in the FX, it doesn't freeze. What could be wrong?

It sounds like you may have forgotten to turn off the on-board video. If you insert a graphics card when you have been using the on-board graphics before, you need to go into setup ( on Dell it usually involves tapping the F2 button before Windows loads) and turn off the onboard graphics or windows may try to load 2 video drivers and fail

Why everytime i used skype and google chrome for the same time, my pc is freezing and slowly run

Then try not to use both of them at the same type. :)

Skype requires at least 256 MB of RAM and Google Chrome requires at least 128MB. Depending on what you are doing on Chrome and if you are video calling in Skype, you may be pushing the upper limits of your memory. This could be just one observation, but this would be hard to determine without a lot of other information.

If this has recently started happening, then you may want to look here:

yeah your system doesnt meet system requirement for running windows Vista Premium. Minimum memory required is 1GB.
Another system requirement is 128memory of graphic card with DirectX 9.0 capable and WDDM 1.0 driver support.
so if you dont have graphic card system will take amount of RAM..this why computer became slow.
If you have 'other components' you can take the RAM not HDD then install it..just make sure the RAM is supported by your current system..
I just recomend that would be better using Windows XP, with less RAM required..

P.S : see here for more detail about windows Vista.

Hello,

Thanks for using fixya.

My name is Carlo.

Your computer might not pass the system requirements that's why it has an error. Or, you can try installing it one more time and check if it will work. Computers do mess up sometimes.

Here's the system requirement of SIMS 3:

Desktop PC (Windows XP + SP2):
CPU: 2ghz Pentium4 Processor or Amd Athlon 2000+ Processor
RAM: 1 GB of RAM
GPU: 128mb Video Card (GeForce FX 5900 or Radeon 9500)

Desktop PC (Windows Vista + SP1):
CPU: 2ghz Pentium4 Processor or Amd Athlon 2400+ Processor
RAM: 1.5 GB of RAM
GPU: 128mb Video Card (GeForce FX 5900 or Radeon 9500)

Laptop (Windows XP + SP2):
CPU: 2ghz Pentium4 Processor or Amd Athlon 2000+ Processor
RAM: 1.5 GB of RAM
GPU: 128mb Video Card (GeForce Go 6200 or Radeon 9600)

Laptop (Windows Vista + SP1):
CPU: 2ghz Pentium4 Processor or Amd Athlon 2400+ Processor
RAM: 2 GB of RAM
GPU: 128mb Video Card (GeForce Go 6200 or Radeon 9600)

IF your computer does not pass the system requirement, then you cannot play sims3 in your computer.

I hope this helps. Thank you for using fixya

Please leave your comment and ratings. Thanks

CARLO

My system says, (RAM) radon access memory low cpu intel (r) pentium 4 cpu, version 2.80 ghz. RAM 256 mb. What can I do to resolve this problem. Dell 4700 dimension

Windows XP requires a "bare-minimum" of 128MB of RAM, works "OK" with your 256MB of RAM, if you don't open too many programs at the same time, and if you close/re-open Internet Explorer about once an hour of usage.

But, Windows XP would be _much_ "happier" if you added 256MB or 512MB of RAM, because it is telling you ("available random access memory is low") that it is using all the RAM.

Add more RAM -- your computer will run much better.

Want to buy more RAM..

Your dell dimension takes DDR ram. These are the specs:

Supported pin types: 184 pin DIMM (regular desktop DDR ram)
Supported memory types: DDR PC2700 or DDR PC3200
Supported speeds: 333mhz or 400mhz
Supported stick sizes: 128mb, 256mb, 512mb or 1gb.
MAXIMUM MEMORY ALLOWED: 2gb (2 x 1gb sticks)

If you buy two of these you will max out for ram and give you the best performance::

Reg:video card upgradation

Should not be a problem. Install the hardware and then when the system detects it, load only the drivers for an XP from the cd. There are other programs on the cd, but do not load them untill U know the whole system is working properly. U may want to consider adding more ram as faster video requires more ram, suggest 1Gb. and remember that windows is a disk dependant system, the higher percentage of the hard drive U use, the poopier the system runs. Suggest jumping to a 250 Gb harddrive and never worry about it again.

Upgrade card

Well, these are the minimum specs for Age of Conan:

OS: Windows Vista/XP
Processor: 3GHz Pentium IV
RAM: 1GB RAM
Video Card: Shader Model 2.0 and 128MB RAM: NVIDIA GeForce 5800 or ATI 9800

These are the specs of your computer (base):

  • Intel Pentium 4 550 (3.4GHz) Processor
  • 1GB PC2-4300 DDR2 Memory
  • Two 74GB WD SerialATA Hard Drives in RAID0 Drive Array
  • 16x DVD+/-R and 48x CD-RW Burner Optical Drives
  • Sound Blaster Audigy 2 ZS Audio
  • NVIDIA GeForce 6800 Graphics Card with 256MB
Seems to me that you are okay. Would a faster computer be better? Of course. But as you are, the game should play alright. Upgrading to an 8 series Nvidia is worth the change, though.

I would fist try updating the memory to at a minimum 256MB. You might also try changing you display card an accelerated model. My guess would be you are currently sharing memory with an onboard display card. Not good for Video streaming!
