Same as above. I've tried other cards but no luck.
The card I was using worked fine for a year or two but went south overnight.

I think your memory card is not supporting your camera check specification of your memory card and check if its suitable for your cam.

I have a Kodak Z990 easy share camera and memory card is protected came up and said reset switch on memory card. How do I reset memory card

SD and SDHC cards have a slide switch along one edge. The position farthest from the metal contacts locks the card, protecting it from writes. The position nearest the contacts unlocks the card.

When I turn on the camera I get the message "memory card is protected (reset switch on memory card). What does this mean? I have a Kodak Easy Share Z740. What do I need to do?

Remove the memory card from the camera, look along the one edge and look for a tiny switch, slide it towards the contacts to unlock the card. the switch in the furthest position from the contacts is in the locked position, Now if for some reason the card is in the unlock position, slide it back and forth to reset the card.

When camera is turned on it says memory card is

If you're using an SD card, it doesn't have a reset switch. It does have a switch to lock (protect) and unlock the card. It should be in the unlocked position.
