Question about Fuji FinePix A345 Digital Camera

1 Answer

Not recognizing my camera

I have an Intel MacBook with OSX. I installed the software no problem but when I connect the camera I am unable to access the pictures. I followed all 14 steps in the booklet to install the software. The viewfinder light is a constant green. Do I need to install drivers to make this work? I am not sure what the problem is.

Why my camera tell me "impossible connection" when I try to put my photos on my Mac? And what is the software which is installed when I read the CD?

The Nikon download software is called Nikon Transfer 2. I would remove the SD card from your camera and slide it into the SD slot on your Mac. If you have an iMac, the slot is located just below the CDROM slot on the right side. Do not do this by feel. Look as you insert the card because if you insert it in the CDROM slot, you may not be able to extract it. If you have a MacBook or MacBook Pro, check the manual for the location. When the computer recognizes your SD card, it will either open Nikon Transfer 2 or a folder will appear on your desk top. If Nikon Transfer does not open, just copy your pictures from the SD card folder to a folder on your Mac.

Did you try connecting SD card directly into the MacBook Pro? Or are you utilizing the USB port of said computer? The OS X program "iPhoto" should automatically detect a camera plugged into the USB port, and should prompt you to download the photos.

It is like the computer does not recognize the camera is connected therefore cannot transfer from my Nikon Coolpix s8000 to my macbook.

HI,
We can go back to basics in resolving this issue. Download and install appropriate drivers and software from this link: http://support.nikonusa.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/17086/session/L2F2LzEvdGltZS8xMjk1OTkyMDkyL3NpZC9QZlU3Ni1raw%3D%3D. Just follow the instructions and your mac computer should be able to recognize your digicam. Should the problem persists, contact digicam's manufacturer. This is the link for your camera's manufacturer: http://support.nikonusa.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/238

I hope this works for you. Goodluck!

PowerShot SD400 / IXUS 50 Digital Camera: I am plugging the camera into my Macbook and it is...

Try NOT connecting your camera to your computer.

The best way to download pictures from your camera to your computer involves removing the memory card from the camera and plugging it into a card reader (either built-in to the computer or connected via USB or FireWire). This is likely to be faster than connecting the camera to the computer, and won't run down your camera's batteries.

Once the card is plugged in, it will appear to your computer as a removable drive. You can use the operating system's drag&drop facility to copy pictures from the card to the computer's hard drive, the same way you copy any other files. Or you can use iPhoto or any other photo cataloging program.

Unable to download pictures

In the short term you can take the memory card out and use a card reader - at least that will let you see the pictures.
